Description:
1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS Trim
1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS Clone..Body off, frame blasted and painted..Body painted Twisted Tangerine, color and clear coat about 2 years old..Spent quite a bit of time removing dents in the bed as it was also painted Tangerine..Joke is that "It Hauls Ass,but nothing else!"..Southern California car most of it's life..Old '70's yellow on blue Cali plates(incs front plate, but it needs to be restored)Heart of the beast started life as a '69 4 bolt main 427 Big Block and has been poked-n-stroked to 496..The license plate frame should read: "No-No,that's a typo,it's a 496 SS!"(badges read 396 SS) ..Polished Dart 345 Pro-1 heads,JE Pistons, roller rockers,H-beam rods,850 Holley on polished Edelbrock intake,Moroso valve covers..Now de-tuned from what it was,to a Comp Cams .650 inch solid lifter roller cam, noisy gear drive,7 quart oil pan, about 10:1 compression, new MSD distributor, new 6-AL rev limiter box(hidden),and new Blaster coil with new big Taylor "409" wires..Motor was a big deal when it was originally built 20 years ago..I've put about 800 miles on the motor since I re-freshen it about 2 years ago..Aluminum radiator and water pump..Runs cool..Runs fine on pump premium gas..New Hooker Headers..The new exhaust system tucked up very nice,it's more quite than I was hoping for..The car's loud color makes up for it..
Trans is a pricey Richmond 6 Speed w/over-drive,15 degree tilt tail shaft..I was able to fit the shifter through a reproduction 4 speed console..At a glace it looks stock, but it's moved back, and the shifter boot is up higher..Came out great..Motor and trans have solid mounts..
Rear is a Chevy 4.56 12 Bolt Posi with Tom's Kick-Ass Axles with a T/A Cover, stock drum rear brakes..Runs about 3,000 RPM at about 70 mph with the overdrive 6th gear..Performance 4" dia drive-shaft..Hint of '90's Ricky Racer is the long rear lug studs..Not so much of a hint are all the racer stickers on the rear window..Owned this Elco since 2003,my original intent was to make it into a tow vehicle to tow my Bracket Racer GTO..I've never tracked this car, motor or trans, but rear end is a spare from my bracket racer.
Lots of new chrome and stainless: New bed trim, new door handles, new SS Grill set,SS 396 emblems all around,SS hood grill chrome, new bumpers, window trim front and back, new front signals, new tail light housings and lenses, and more..Mostly new black SS interior,OEM bucket seat frames with all new seat springs and new foam, reproduction stick console, repro SS gauges, new dash pad,new dash bezel, new visors, new door panels(the kick and rear panels are good originals)..Tilt steering wheel with custom leather steering wheel..No radio,no clock(center dash hole),no HVAC(was planning Vintage Air on this one,but never bought the kit)..Gas gauge non-opp,though new tank and sender..All other gauges work..All new wire harnesses except the long one from the fuse box to the rear quarter..It does not yet have seat backs or bottoms, nice repros are available for about 200.00..
Wheels are Coker 15x7" and 15x8" versions of the 14" '68-70 SS wheel with larger 235/60 275/60 T/A Radials(maybe 300 miles on them)..The restored frame pics show Convo Pro Centerlines 15x6" front and 15x8 1/2" rears, tires have about 1,000 miles, would swap the SS wheels for the Centerlines if you prefer(or negotiate to buy Elco with both sets)..Larger 1 1/4" front sway bar,and added rear sway bar with boxed lower arms..Stock style disc brake,A-arms ect,but all urethane bushings, even urethane body bushings..New gas and brake lines, brake hoses, new gas tank and sender..New ball joints, tie rod ends ect..Still a couple pieces to install, trim below rear window, and bed panel over the "Smuggler's Compartment"..I'll try to work on those soon..
More pics upon request, what else do you want to see?..It does NOT have USB or Bluetooth, was unable to remove that from template..
I'm in Running Springs,CA 92382(think Big Bear/Arrowhead Lakes area) about 100 mileseast of Los Angeles..Possible personal delivery for extra cost up to 400 miles of my ZIP..Please e or call if questions or to view..$300.00 pay pal deposit due with-in 24 hours, balancedue with-in 7 days,or at pick up which ever is first..Shipping is buyer's responsibility, but I'd meet with the carrier with-in 30 miles of my 92382 ZIP..No out of USA sales unless you are paying cash in person..Clear clean title in hand..Current Cali tags good to Feb 2020..
Would consider a trade if it's way in my favor,no major projects or rust buckets..Reason to selling is to concentrateon a long term GTO project, before I get too old to do so!..
