1971 Chevrolet Malibu --

If you like your Malibus stock, well-preserved with a great historical pedigree, and with low original miles, perhaps this numbers matching, 1-owner 1971 Chevrolet Malibu is what you've been looking for. With a slick Cranberry Red paint job that will make it stand out in a crowded field, plus a bulletproof and original drivetrain, it's the kind of car you won't be able to resist driving every chance you get. Just one glance at the photos will tell... you this car is something special. Sure, the Malibu (and the Chevelle for that matter) is one of the best-looking muscle cars of all time, but with the cool paint and no stripes (something rarely seen these days where clones are a dime-a-dozen) on this one, it goes to an entirely different level. Not Torch Red, but not quite orange, either, it stands out like no red car ever could and the factory trim tag confirms that it's the car's original color, which was resprayed in 2000. But you don't put paint like this on wavy bodywork, so a great deal of time was invested in getting the sheetmetal right before a drop of paint went on, although as a clean survivor, it was admittedly a pretty easy job. Then there are the added SS badges which give this car a bunch of attitude that fits it perfectly, especially with the clear headlights and turn signals to set them off. A period-correct grille and shiny trim, and nice original bumpers with bumper guards up front all turn this into a Malibu that people will be drawn to without even knowing why. The tan interior is all stock-spec that was replaced in 2000, which is a very good thing. Too many guys go crazy trying to update their cars, but nothing looks better than original gear in a vintage piece of muscle, and the seats, door panels, and carpets give this one a very clean look. There might be a few signs of age, but it's evident everywhere you look that this car has been well-maintained from the beginning. Note the crack-free dash, the column shifter that manages the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission below, an original steering wheel, factory A/C and an original set of gauges and "idiot lights" ahead of the driver. The back seat looks virtually unused, and because of the Malibu's penchant for Friday night cruising with all the windows down, it now carries a JVC AM/FM/Cassette radio in the dash for improved tunes. There's also a nicely preserved trunk with its original mat and a full-sized spare tire and jack set. One of the most popular and dependable of Chevrolet engines in 1971 was the 350 cubic inch V8, and the one under this hood certainly doesn't disappoint. This is the original, numbers-matching engine with only 91,663 actual miles on the clock. Given the durability of these engines and the relatively low-stress build (compression ratios were starting to become mandated down in '71), you should have no worries about enjoying this one as intended. It looks quite good for its age and thanks to a restoration in the late '90s by the original, 1-owner family, it runs superbly. Newer parts throughout the engine bay confirm that this car has always been important to its owner (ask us about its detailed history and you'll see that's true right away), and the power steering and power brakes make this 'Bu an absolute pleasure to drive. The believed-original TH350 3-speed automatic transmission doesn't mind the small block's torque and a set of Flowmaster mufflers give it that racy tone you've been after. The chassis is also original and very nicely preserved and it rolls on proper SS wheels with new 255/70/14 Hankook radials all around. This exceptional, 1-owner. 91,633 actual mileage survivor that has never left the great state of Texas is a truly unique find. We rarely find vehicles of this survivor vintage, let alone with verifiable low mileage and a 1-family owned history that proves how loved this car has always been. Call today!
