Description:
1994 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500
We built the Budnik Truck 25 years ago and it still has less than 12k miles. It's time to sell (or start a museum) so someone else can enjoy it. No more garage space. An opportunity to own a piece of history. As Ride Tech just said when announcing their new suspension kit, " These C1500 trucks are now 20-30 years old. It's time we started treating them like classics."As probably the most recognizable of the '88-'98's ever built, this one is definitely a classic. GM did a great job with the clean lines of these trucks. This Budnik concept vehicle went on the Hot Rod Power Tour in '98 and stopped by the GM tech center where it was reviewed by Kevin O'Donnell and the GM Truck Design Group.Recognizable for it's totally custom one-off front end and it's brilliant yellow paint, this truck has hundreds of man-hours invested in it.
The signature styling feature of the Budnik Chevy is the front facia with it's cnc machined aluminum headlight doors and grill, wrap around center bar that was hand formed from steel, and the custom cowl panel, also hand formed from steel, with scoops that pick up where the hood lines fade out. The headlight doors roll under when the headlights are turned on.The cab seams were filled, door corners rounded and handles removed. The cargo light is now a flush mounted acrylic lens that lights up as the Budnik logo.It has a custom leather interior with a big 90's sound system hidden under the back seat and of course, a Budnik Split Grip steering wheel. The bed has been widened (fenders flared allowing 315/35/20 Nitto's), moved forward to tighten the gap to the cab (the rear axle was moved accordingly), and a curved (hand made) steel roll pan welded in. There is a small spoiler formed in the tailgate and bed sides. The tail lights are flush mounted and extend into the tailgate. A custom license plate frame pivots down to operate a tailgate release cable. And there is a rear belly pan with a center duct detail and exhaust ports formed in.The bed cover is made of 4 aluminum panels which open down to frame the Ducati.Beautiful Paint by Mick Jenkins of So-Cal Speed Shop fame on both. The engine compartment and underside looks like new with the addition of Doug Thorley headers. It is lowered with springs, spindles, shocks, rear flip kit and re-positioning of the rear spring perches. It sits on springs but also has a complete air system to raise it for extra load or if more ground clearance is desired. It has a very nice and effective set of Baer Brakes. And of course it has a set of one-off Budnik SKO surfaced machined wheels that can be run with or without three bar spinners. The design incorporates the Budnik logo arrowhead.
Bids include the matching Ducati 916 but can be separated upon negotiation.
The 1996 Ducati 916 is ready to ride but rarely ridden. (3636 miles) This is the classic milestone bike that not only changed Ducati's future but also began the modern superbike style. Shown with the truck in the Budnik Wheel booth during the 1997 Sema show. Beautiful Mick Jenkins (of So-Cal Speed Shop fame) street rod quality paint. Polished stainless and Carbon fiber exhaust. Hand fabricated and machined license plate frame and turn signal mounting bracket. Original mufflers, seat, turn signals and brackets etc included.
