1957 Chevy Bel Air 4 door Hardtop Sport Sedan

The 4 door hardtop is a very cool body design on 57 Chevy’s.It has no pillar between the doors so when windows are rolled down it is completely open. Also, the roof line is much lower than a 4 door sedan with the rear window appearing to wrap around, giving it a very sporty look.

This is a highly optioned car:

283 V-8

3 speed automatic (most were manual or 2 speed auto.)

Power steering

Power brakes

Dual rear antennae (needs repair)

Full wheel covers

Electric Clock

Fender Skirts

Heater/Defroster

The following work was done in the last 6 months:

New upper and lower control arm bushings

New ball joints and front end alignment

New front shocks and rear air shocks

Rebuilt front brakes (wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes)

New rear view mirrors

New aluminum radiator.

Starts up easily and the V-8 roars through the dual exhaust.Transmission shifts good and car drives down the road nicely. However, tires are very old and I would not recommend driving any distance before replacing them.I found a set of 215 75 R14 Hankook with white walls for $350 out the door, but I did not want to do this in case the next owner wanted a different look.

It is an older restoration that is showing wear, but still a good looking and fun driving car. There is some old body work and bondo that is bubbling and can be seen.Paint job was not a high quality job and is showing its age.The floors are solid. The trunk has been patched. All chrome and stainless sis in very good condition (I think a lot of it was replaced when restored 15 years ago)

Will need some minor repairs as well - Needs a new wiper switch – they won’t turn off.Passenger rocker molding is included but not in good shape.Rear windows won’t roll down – may need regulator or just oil, I have not worked on them yet.Basically, it needs some tinkering which I did not get to yet.

Overall, a nice 57 Chevy for the money – ether restore or drive as is.I was going to restore but other priorities have now come about.Clear Florida title in my name.Once car is paid for, I am flexible with pick up time either in person or by shipping company. I have pictures of it with skirts and without so you can see the different look.

Please email with any questions or provide phone number and I will call you to discuss the car. Please only bid if serious – if you have low feedback I will require us to talk on the phone before auction ends.

Thanks for looking.
