1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 BelAir
1956 Chevrolet BelAir 2 door postThis is a nice driving, solid 1956 BelAir which has the one piece frame and rare 756 D paint code (a late year only paint option) which is Grecian Gold and Calypso Cream. Interior is also factory correct Charcoal and Ivory and in excellent condition. This BelAir is fun to drive and really gets the looks.
Highlights
- 350 Small block Chevy backed by Muncie M20 4 speed: Runs very well, does not smoke, Edelbrock carb w/electric choke, full 2 1/2" exhaust with ceramic coated 2 1/2" Ram Horns manifolds and Turbo mufflers. New Aluminum radiator and metal shroud keeps the car cool - runs 185-190 all day. Shifts well. Original front and bellhousing motor mounts have been removed and replaced with side motor mounts and a transmission crossmember and mount. This really cleaned up the bottom of the car and allowed the new exhaust to be fully tucked up inside the frame rails.
- 2" drop spindles and new Front Disc Brakes (drilled and slotted rotors)/Rear Drums with all new brake lines on entire car. New front and rear shocks.
- 12 Bolt rearend with Eaton Positraction and 4.10 gears. Eaton unit is believed to be a 3-series, so easy to convert to 3.xx gears if desired.
- Chrome and stainless in very good condition. Bumpers are excellent. Lower grill bar chrome does have some flaking.
- Paint in nice driver condition. Older paint job but still shows quite well. Some chips which have been filled in (drivers fender, lower passenger door, lower passenger quarter). One of the quarters may have been replaced at one time. The only reason I say that is because the passenger side has a visible seam beneath the tail light while the drivers side does not. I don't know if the factory left a seam or not, so don't know which side is original. This is not noticable unless looking right at it. The car is solid without any rust. The doors shut like they should with good weather stripping. The underside of the car is very clean as well with solid floors and body mounts.
- Interior is excellent. Factory correct and in great condition along with the headliner. Heater does not work as the hoses are not connected to the heater core. The heater box and dash levers are all there, but there is no working heater. Wipers do not work as there is no wiper motor. All wiper related parts appear to be under the dash. The speedometer bounces around and is probably not accurate. The radio does not work, but I will include a brand new in the box Custom Autosound (same as what is currently in the dash). There is no emergency brake. I do have the handle/lever which I will include, but there are no cables under the car. Headlights, blinkers, brake lights work properly. All glass is good; the windshield has some wiper marks on the passenger side. All windows roll up and down like they should.
Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will assist from my end as needed. $500 deposit required. Remaining funds to be paid via bank wire transfer (preferred) or cashier check or cash. Title or car do not leave my possession intall all funds have cleared.
I've tried to describe the car as best as I can, but feel free to ask additional questions.
