1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Coupe
1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza
I purchased this car rather recently, and was planning on keeping it for a while. I put some money into it, got it new tires and some more stuff (see below), but have always wanted a Ford Model A. I only have room for one car. I am able to get an A now so need to sell this to do so.
Lots of recent work, such as
-New fuel tank
-New fuel sender
-New carbs
-New battery
-New voltage regulator
-New tires
-New radio
-New power antenna
-Full tune up
-Silicone spark plug wires
-New transaxle fluid
-New rubber fuel fill hoses
-New dash
-New door panels
-New speaker
-Tachometer
-New paint
-New fuel pump (mechanical)
-New brake shoes
-New wheel cylinders
-Nixon sticker
-New thermostat bellows properly adjusted
-more
This car is DRIVEN DAILY! I think I have put around a thousand miles on it within the last few months. I dont have a very long commute anywhere. I have driven it for around an hour, no issues. Really a great car... Not a junk bucket with rusted out panels and an interior full of trash. Just got back from an hour long drive, will drive at 60 all day long with no issues. You will get many compliments. This is my main car that I rely on to get places, so of course it runs and drives and stops.
VERY tight steering. Nice interior, not a junky smelly moldy interior. Nice car. Good body, dings and dents as expected. NO MAJOR RUST, no rot. Couple of very small bubbles, nothing bad at all for NH. Underneath is probably one of the most cleanest rust free on an original 60s car youll see in new england. Undercoated. Water drains well, no clogs that I know of. Powerglide auto transmission. Working gauges. Everything is working to my knowledge. Again, this is DRIVEN DAILY. This is NOT the commonly seen barn find Corvair that hasnt been started up, I DRIVE AND RELY ON THIS DAILY. Hasnt let me down... yet. Good MPG. This is not a junky project car with mice holes in the seats and no floors. Great original headliner with mininal stains. Chrome is good. Glass is great, no cracks. Nice sounding exhaust.
Have history and service records. Lots of stuff.
Simply selling to fund a Model A purchase and will not have room for this.
$7999, open to offers. No I will not accept $1000. Do not attempt to convince me that this car is only worth $100 and then say you can buy a school bus for that money... Yes, I have had that happen. No low balls. No tire kickers. You know who you are. Do not waste your time. Head back now or be prepared to be ignored.
Dont offer $1000 saying "oh ill give you a thousand if you can get it started". Of course it starts. It needs to. If you do anything like that, I will simply ignore you.
Only bad things I can think of is that the carpets a bad aftermarket one that should be replaced if you want it to look premo. I left it because I can get it dirty without worrying. Pushrod seals are leaking a little, they all leak. Doors have a little sag, need new bushings. Very simple stuff. Not a perfect car, but is an excellent driver in both looks and functionality, plus youve got that new radio!
Yes, this is a little more than other Corvairs, but consider the recent work and daily driver status.
