Chevelle Malibu big block Chevy
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
Bright orange, white interior, 396 cubes under the hood, and a 5-speed... do you really need to read any further? Some combinations are so timeless that you can picture them in your sleep, and Chevelles like this ultra-clean 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS you see here is one of them. It's got the right stance, the right wheels and the right rumble, too! Outside, this classic is coated with a nice quality, high-impact orange paint job accented by... clean chrome, and the combination looks very upscale. It's accompanied by the usual white SS stripes, and now that you've seen this car, you'll understand how good that combination really is; it just looks nasty! The cowl induction hood is a must-have on a Chevelle, as are the hood pins, and the finish quality on the entire car shows very well. It does have a few minor signs of use, which is easy to understand, but they were clearly sweating the details when it went together a few years ago. We don't know 100% if this is a real SS (you'll need an original build sheet for that), but it's wearing SS emblems and that famous blacked-out SS grille. Bright stainless moldings around the wheel arches accentuates the stance, and the bumpers and remaining brightwork and stainless is all new and absolutely glistens. Inside, the white vinyl interior with optional bucket seats and center console are a ton sportier than the standard bench. Almost all the soft parts are recent, and the color combination looks absolutely amazing; an excellent choice over the safer and more common black vinyl, although the plush carpets are black in color and provide a great contrast. The dash bezel is correct SS stock and houses original gauges, and they're joined by a set of white-faced auxiliary gauges mounted under the dash. The factory AM radio is remarkably still in its factory slot, although it's currently inoperable so the opportunity for an upgrade to something more modern is there for the next owner. A Hurst T-handle shifter with cue ball shift knob splits the buckets and manages the 5-speed manual gearbox that just begs the driver to hammer down on the throttle. The trunk is correctly finished with spatter paint and has more than enough room for all your car show goodies. Under the hood is a rumbling 396 cubic inch V8, well dressed and punched up with aluminum heads. A chrome open element air cleaner is in place along with matching valve covers, and marries beautifully with the chrome radiator cover. A polished aluminum intake adds a few more ponies, as do the aforementioned aluminum heads and Quick Fuel 4-barrel carburetor, and a set of longtube headers that feeds the Flowmaster dual exhaust system add more than a few more. Not to mention the impressive growl that bellows from this Orange Crush. It's also equipped with power steering and front disc brakes, so this is more than just a straight-line bruiser that's a bear to drive. Underneath this car, you'll find a pair of fat aftermarket sway bars and fresh shocks, a new gas tank, and very clean and solid floor pans. The 5-speed manual spins a rugged 12-bolt rear end that doesn't seem to mind the power as it transfers it swiftly to the asphalt. Flashy American Racing Torque Thrust wheels carry 235/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFGoodrich white-letter performance radials, which only help with the upscale look. Nicely built just the way you'd do it for yourself, with a spectacular color combination, this Chevelle gets a lot of things right. It's fast, comfortable, and ready to enjoy, with just the right modifications to establish its street cred at the next cruise night. Call today!
