1989 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Restomod

Chevy has been making pickup trucks since the '30s and when you make a gazillion of them, well that's no small amount of practice. Made to withstand all the punishment that a commercial vehicle needs to tolerate, this 1989 Chevrolet C1500 Restomod pickup has led a pampered single family/two owner Texas existence and has been nicely upgraded under the hood to handle many more years of enjoyment. There can't be many that are nicer, leading us to wonder if it's... time for the Silverado to become a genuine collector vehicle. With a great look extended-cab look and upgraded V8 power, this great-looking survivor deserves your full attention. Red will always be in style, especially in a pickup truck, and we have to admit that it works especially well on the Chevy C/K series of trucks. Combined with the extended cab and long bed, this Silverado covers enough real estate to transport an entire town, yet still looks sporty enough to show on a Friday night. It remains in great condition for being 30 years old, and the shiny paint has weathered the years far better than most GM products of the era, needing nothing more than a coat of wax to really look great. There are no notable blemishes, no major road rash, just a few touch-ups here and there (check out how nice those long bedsides look!), and it's clear that someone really cared for this truck. There was not much chrome fitted to these workhorses from the factory, but what is there remains in great condition, including both bumpers. And if you're actually going to put it to work, you'll be happy to find a heavy-duty bed mat and plastic liner for protection. Slip inside and have a seat, there's plenty of room. A comfortable vinyl 40/60 front bench seat makes this a first-class way to haul your gear and the red cloth upholstery looks nicely maintained throughout. Because this is a Silverado it is optioned with all the creature comforts, including air conditioning which still blows cold, factory AM/FM/Cassette stereo, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and a tilt wheel are all at your fingertips, further blurring the line between blue and white collar transportation. And we haven't forgotten that this is a truck with a half-ton load capacity and so power steering and power 4-disc brakes make it all manageable. The dash pad isn't even cracked (if you follow these trucks, you'll appreciate that rarity) and the sliding rear window provides a comfortable breeze for those days when A/C isn't needed. Given the condition of the interior and the clean history report, there's no doubt this Chevy has been babied since day one. Open the hood and inspect the nicely detailed engine bay, and then look closer and you'll quickly realize that is no period-correct small block under there. It's actually a modern crate 6.2L LS3 that provides a substantial boost in power and torque for this truck, while managing to fit in the engine bay perfectly and look like it just rolled out of the showroom. New parts are evident throughout, including the Wilwood 4-wheel disc brake system, modern power steering system, and the gigantic Griffin aluminum radiator that keeps the whole show cool. A 4L70E 4-speed automatic transmission was also swapped in and is performing without complaint and there isn't a better transmission available to mate to a newer LS; after all, fuel mileage matters these days. Also, take a look at the super-solid undercarriage, where you'll find no secrets, thanks to a lifetime in the warm Texas climate, and again, it suggests that this truck has led a very good life. Polished American Racing wheels add some flash to the bright red pickup, endowing it with a sporty demeanor and it carries Nitto radials all around. This is a great-looking truck today, and if late 80's trucks continue to become collectable in the future, we're pretty sure this beauty will be first on the list. Call today!
