Factory original firewall mounted data plate reads - Code "1847" - which decodes as a V8 Impala Two Door Hardtop only. 1958 was the first year for the Impala and it was a one year only design making them RARE and VERY DESIRABLE ESPECIALLY WHEN EQUIPPED WITH A FACTORY ORIGINAL 348 "BIG BLOCK" MOTOR !! It has been lovingly owned by the same 70+ year old retired military guy who lives in Arizona for the last 20+ years !! As you can see it has been his pride and joy all these years but his age and health convinced him it was time to let someone else enjoy it as much as he did. It still retains it's - FACTORY ORIGINAL - driver's door pillar mounted Chevrolet VIN tag - FACTORY ORIGINAL - firewall mounted Chevrolet data plate - both of which are shown in two pictures below. This is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Arizona - Idaho High Mountain Desert - Western car and it shows !! I drove this Impala Two Door Hardtop as my daily driver for the last several days and I assure it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It is an AMAZING driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. This is a STUNNING - RESTORED - 1958 IMPALA THAT IS READY TO DRIVE, SHOW AND ENJOY !!

At the heart of this Chevrolet Impala is the VERY STRONG !! - "GROUND POUNDING" !! - FACTORY ORIGINAL !! - 348 "BIG BLOCK" V8 motor that is running VERY well. The casting number on the back of the block reads - 3751872 - which decodes correctly as a 1958 348 V8 motor, passenger car only - 250 Horse Power - 4BBL Carb - Powerglide automatic transmission. The Suffix Code on the front motor pad reads - T507G - which also decodes correctly as follows, (T= Tonowanda build plant) (507 Engine build sequence number) ( G= 1958 Passenger car). There is also a date code on the back top of the block that reads 58 for 1958. I took pictures of all three of these numbers and showed them in the pictures below. The motor also sports the ORIGINAL four barrel intake manifold, ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds, ORIGINAL "BOWTIE" valve covers, Edelbrock custom chrome air cleaner housing and a Carter AFB Competition Series carburetor. Sounds GREAT too with the fairly new -"THROATY" - dual exhaust system with Magna-Flows and chrome tips. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH !! - Powerglide automatic transmission that also functions very well. The BEAUTIFUL !! - ORIGINAL 1958 IMPALA STYLE - Code "838" - Gray, Black and Turquoise Cloth and Vinyl Impala interior is in VERY NICE !! condition including a VERY NICE ORIGINAL STYLE Gray, Black and Turquoise Cloth and vinyl front seat, VERY NICE Black carpeting, VERY NICE Matching Gray, Black and Turquoise door panels, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, NICE FACTORY ORIGINAL IMPALA steering wheel, VERY NICE ORIGINAL STYLE Gray, Black and Turquoise Cloth and vinyl rear seat, VERY NICE perforated Black vinyl headliner, VERY NICE perforated Black vinyl sun visors and a VERY NICE Black dash !! All of the black rubber weatherstripping has been replaced and is soft, supple and in NEARLY NEW condition. The CLEAN - SOLID trunk also sports a VERY NICE Black Carpeted liner, a full size steel belted radial spare tire and the ORIGINAL jack and lug wrench. All of the light lenses and reflectors are also clear, bright, UNCRACKED and BEAUTIFUL !!
