1970 Chevrolet Corvette --

Lots of horsepower and lots of eyeball appeal, this 1970 Chevrolet Corvette delivers. Packing a strong-running small block and a quick-shifting 4-speed, this is a Sting Ray that neatly balances style, performance, and desirability. Forget trailer queens, this is a car you won't be able to resist on the road. Painted in prestigious Donnybrooke Green, there's just nothing like a dark-colored Sting Ray to attract attention. I don't care who you are or where you go, there's... just no way you'll be missed in this car. The bodywork is quite straight, the paint is very good, and it has that look of a Corvette that has been enjoyed, but never abused. In fact, a clay bar and professional buff would step the level of this finish up instantly. The way the light plays over those voluptuous fenders in an unbroken curve is proof that someone invested a good amount of time getting everything straight. The headlights line up and the rear deck fits well, and the T-tops clamp down tightly without any evidence of leakage problems. Bright chrome bumpers fore and aft add some jewelry, along with the new-for-1970 egg crate grills up front, and big, rectangular exhaust tips strongly suggest that there's some serious blasting powder under the hood. Sophisticated yet aggressive, this is C3 is an absolute looker. Correct Code 400 black vinyl bucket seat covers were installed during the restoration, and combined with 1970's newly contoured buckets that offered improved lateral support, they hold you in place better than before. The seats remain in great condition with only minor wear showing, giving the interior a welcoming, casual look that says, "Let's go for a ride!" Slide behind the wheel and your hand falls naturally to the 4-speed's big, chrome shifter, and as your eyes roam over the interior, you notice details like the AM/FM radio, fiber-optic lamp monitoring system, and the spec plaque right there on the console. The gauges are in nice condition, with the tach showing a correct 6000 RPM redline and all the auxiliary gauges work like they should. And maybe most importantly, the A/C system is a modern unit that utilizes R134a refrigerant, although it does need a service. Overhead you can switch between the partially open sky of the removed T-tops, or the slick top with them on, a decision made easily depending on how much extra attention you may seek. The engine is a very strong, believed-original 350 cubic inch V8, built up with Flotek 200cc aluminum heads. It is expertly rebuilt and dressed for show, and it looks like a performance engine bathed in shine with chrome Chevrolet valve covers and chrome air cleaner. An Edelbrock aluminum intake, Quickfuel carburetor, and HEI ignition snap the motor to attention and certainly help bolster the already plentiful horsepower as well. Underneath, it's quite clean, with solid original floors and Hedman headers feed an H-pipe dual exhaust system featuring Flo-Pro mufflers. Power 4-wheel discs stop the 'Vette on a dime, and power steering allows for easy two-finger driving. For a correct look, it rolls on Rallys wearing 225/70/15 Goodyear performance radials with plenty of life left. For a Corvette that's built to drive, this slick green C3 hits a lot of high notes and offers a ton of fun for the money. Isn't it time you stopped watching from the sidelines and got into the hobby?
