1936 Chevrolet Other Coupe

Automobiles designed in the 1930s are pretty unique and easily identifiable. They became more aerodynamic and streamlined than their predecessors and were celebrating advances in technology along the way. The style is often referred to a "streamlined modern". These days, Street Rods fast forward through 80 years of additional technological advances and apply those to the beautiful look of those early cars. Like this beautiful '36 5-Window coupe. Check it out. Letting those looks speak for themselves,... the body of this car has been left completely stock. However, there was considerable care taken to insure that all the panels were properly aligned and the surfaces meticulously prepared before it was coated in that classic Red paint. The look is kept clean and understated with even the tall vertical grill, which is frequently dressed in chrome, kept body color. That allows the rest of the chrome to shine that much brighter, like the bold line of it running up the center of that grill, under the flying hood ornament, then trailing back along the top of the hood. Headlights are proudly perched between the hood and the gently curved front fenders. The roof line flows up, over, and down over the passenger compartment, then smoothly over the trunk. Simple chrome bumpers dress out the front and the rear and running boards are a '30s classic feature. Open the door and you will find a wonderful Tan interior that is a mix of classic look and modern tech. The door panels are simple but elegant with vertical pleats running from top to bottom. Bucket seats are a modern addition, but are stitched, old world style, in pleated leather with smooth side bolsters. The woodgrain steering wheel is absolutely gorgeous with a billet hub and bowtie center button mounted on a tilt column along with a billet shifter. Dolphin gauges keep track of speed on the right and engine functions on the left with a separate, auxiliary tach mounted just to the left of the column. A custom, leather wrapped center console holds power window switches as well as a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player with speakers mounted behind the seats for your listening pleasure. The huge trunk in this car is as nicely trimmed out as the interior, so go ahead, load up with luggage or lawn chairs and coolers and head out for adventure. Open that piano hinged hood, and you will find a nicely dressed out 383 cubic inch motor nestled down in a spotless engine bay. The firewall is polished up so it reflects the light shining off all the chrome on the engine. It starts with the Edelbrock air filter assembly that feeds the Edelbrock carburetor and Offenhauser intake. It is joined by chrome valve covers with Chevrolet in script pressed into them, as well as a chrome alternator and master cylinder cover. The air conditioner is polished up nicely too and there is an Accel HEI ignition system sending spark to the plugs through red wires. Spent gasses head out through shorty headers and cherry bomb style mufflers and give this car a nice rumbling sound. A solid axle on leaf springs gets the power to the rear wheels while the front end has rack and pinion steering and front disc brakes to provide good handling and great stopping ability. The rubber meets the road through 235/75R15s in the rear and 205/75R15s in the front mounted on chromed U.S. Wheel alloys. 1930s style with turn of the century comfort and convenience. Come on down and check out this sweet ride.
