You are looking at one of the rarest 1967 427-435 hp Corvettes in existence today. This car was a special order through the St. Louis plant manager. This rare optioned car was to be delivered to the Bill Williams Race Team of Western Kentucky. Bill gave his friend Jack Kanutson(St. Louis plant manager) from 1963-1967 permission to order his cars race ready. This 1967 was to be Bills personal car, it had orders to be sent to GM's most elite testing ground, Zone 00 section A-42 corporate, Moorestown, NJ, where special treatment was given to the drive train. The car was then shipped to Bill Williams Chevrolet ( Dealer No. 715) Jack had originally ordered the427 L88 430 hp option, but because of production problems he received the 427/435 hp option. Options included were: 467 convertible body, L71 427-435 hp, K66 transistor ignition, M21 4 speed close ratio transmission, G81 positrac, 4.11:1 ratio, QB1 Red Stripe Tires, C07 Auxiliary Hard Top, C08 Vinyl Cover Roof, Std. black vinyl interior, A85 shoulder harness, A82 Standard Black Head Restraints, F41 Special Purpose Suspension, J50 Power Brakes, J56 Heavy Duty Brakes, N14 Side Mount Dual Exhaust, A01 Soft Ray Tinted Glass, U69 AM/FM Radio and Rare 900AA Black Paint ! Due to illness his car was sold in March of 1967. This car was sold with 1,112 miles to a business owner in town. Two years later it was sold and went to Owensboro, KY., driven seldom and sat in storage for the next 30 years. The car needing a total restoration retained the original drive train.The engine, when disassembled, had 12.5 pop-up pistons with a standard bore. The crankshaft was a cross drilled steel GM crank shaft, it had a set of factory 391-cylinder heads that had been port matched and a L88 camshaft, which are believed to have been installed in Moorestown, NJ. when it left the St. Louis plant in 1966. This rare find received a complete body off restoration done to NCRS specs with no expense spared. The Gold Spinner Award was received by this car, which is one of the most coveted concours awards. Documentation includes; Original Owners' Manual with protective pouch, warranty book,wheel trim instruction sheet, Chevrolet Corvette AM-FM radio operating instructions, tank sticker, window sticker, protect o plate, Gold Spinner Judging Sheet, Award and Certificate, as well as owner history.
