Description:
1973 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Base
Up for sale is my 1973 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door sedan. If you are a fan of James Bond "Live and Let Die" you will know they used these through out the entire movie. This is not one of the movie cars-but were used by the police and taxi services mainly and are nearly extinct now. This one survived and and is pretty nice considering. I have had it for about a year I suppose and it has never let me down once. This Bel Air has brand new tires all the way around, new headlights, new dog dish caps that were nearly mint when I found them here on eBay. New trim rings, the grille has been replaced and an NOS grille emblem added. NOS door edge guards were added by me as well. There is also a brand new windshield that I had recently installed.
This car runs like a sewing machine and the AC is hooked up. Fire it up and drive it anywhere.
The car will need some cosmetic work here and there but overall is in nice shape. The typical dash cracks are there and the trunk has some light scale but not rusty. It does need a new trunk seal though as it does catch a little water if left out in rain or wet weather.
The car had some body work done to the left rear quarter a long time ago and they did a nice job. The paint is faded-but as you can see-it can be brought back if you don't wish to repaint. The front seat material is a little worn and is coming apart in some places. Not a terrible job to do and if you wanted to make this Bel Air even more "basic"-I would go with green vinyl.
This is NOT an Impala or a Caprice-it's a Bel Air. They made 40,000 of these compared to the huge numbers of Impalas and Caprices that year. Parts will interchange but the Bel Air bumper with the 4 tail lights instead of 6 would be nearly impossible to find and this one is perfect. I also replaced the tail light lenses with NOS ones I found and bought as well.
All paperwork in the the glovebox for everything, manuals, brochures and the car is turn key.
Clear title in my name.
The AM radio works great, horn,lights,blickers,brakes-etc. It will need a stock cigarette lighter to make it completely original. The dome light lens cracked from age but those are available as well. The car has a full tank of gas right now, but the sending unit should be replaced as the gauge has a mind of it's own sometimes.
Complete tune-up was done-everything runs and operates as it should and the car is nearly whisper quiet. You will need to do nothing on the drivetrain. All minor cosmetics.
If you have wanted one of these to redo, or make into a period correct taxi or police car-here it is and you might not find another one in this condition.
