California Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4 Stepside Truck - 100% Original & Rust-Free!!!

1994 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71

Six months ago, my buddy in Southern California came across this completely original, fully loaded 1994 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab Z71 4x4 Stepside truck in the wealthy suburb of Pasadena. Knowing that my son loves old Chevy trucks and had just gotten his learner's permit, he thought it might make the perfect first car for him. I wholeheartedly agreed, and being well aware that we could never find an original truck in this kind of rust-free, "time capsule" condition here in Minnesota. I had it shipped out here.
My son was over the moon ... I mean he really loves this truck ... but my wife most certainly does not. It is inconceivable to her that he would want to drive a vehicle with no airbags or anti-lock brakes, and moreover, that I would be OK with him doing so. This battle has been raging for months, and this weekend we finally threw in the towel. I bought a brand new truck for myself and gave him my 2008 Suburban.
This rare truck has spent its entire life in AZ & CA. It has been extremely well maintained, inside and out. The exterior looks great with very few blemishes and the interior is remarkably clean with nowhere near the wear and tear that one might expect from a truck of its age or mileage. The motor and transmission were rebuilt approx 70k miles ago and it runs smoothly with plenty of power. We just had the heater core and thermostat replaced and the AC was also recharged and it blows very cold. There are new rear brakes and we also installed a brand new tonneau cover on it, too. The only issue left to be addressed is replacing the tires.
The truck is currently sitting in my garage and I have a few pictures from here and also when it was in CA. The truck is in the same condition as these pics ... or even better, really, since he has been cleaning and polishing it religiously, as the weather permits.
