This car is being sold for a friend. My background with classic automobiles extends for over 40 years. I have built and restored many Corvettes and Porsches and am a member of numerous car clubs including NCRS & PCA. I judge at many concour events in and around Southern CA. This is a stellar, turn-key automobile at a very high level of restoration. This is a solid #2+ condition vehicle that needs nothing. The only reason I don't call this a #1 is because the restoration was done it 1995, however it looks like it was done last week.

Originally purchased new in Southern California and has spent its life in the Los Angeles - San Diego area. We have registrations going back to 1969. We believe the mileage to be original to the car, going by the receipts for restoration work and mileage recordings on such. Records dating back to the 80's and 90's chronicle the mileage to date.

This exceptionally restored 1954 Corvette, finished in Polo White with Red Interior. It has the original block Overhead Valve Inline-6 "Blue Flame" motor with a little over 43,000 miles. The original Powerglide Transmission was rebuilt in 2003 at 42650 miles.

The restoration process, determined by all the receipts that come with the car, was performed primarily from February of 1994 to January of 1995 by Corvette & Classics of San Marcos, CA. The body was completely disassembled, doors, hood and trunk lid removed, windows out. All rubber and door felt was replaced.

The body is near perfection and appears to be all original glass-panels, never hit body. The panels are laser straight with near perfect shut lines (see close-up pictures). This body and paint work was done back when true craftsmen were working in body shops in Southern CA. These were the days body men knew how to block and block and block a body to absolute perfection. They were proud of their work and it shows in how beautiful this car is today 24 years later. There are no cracks or damage in the paint and looks like it was painted literally last week.

In my personal opinion the body is one of the nicest I have seen on a 1953 to 1955 Corvette. There are no waves in the body panels, one would think it was a steel body by the perfection.

The paint is a smooth and mirror like finish. It is two-stage paint, which looks absolutely stellar in Polo White. Normally I am more of a single state guy, but not when the body is done to perfection. The "SHINE" on this car accentuates the beauty of this body, rather than "hide" the flaws of a typical C1 body.

All Chrome has been done to show quality and stainless trim has been renewed and polished to a bright finish during the restoration (receipts for everything).

The Interior is completely new, the seats have been completely rebuilt, all new dash wrap and door panels, carpet, etc. The seats have a wonderful firm feel to them, meaning the springs were all redone and certainly have not been sat in much. The texture of the materials is the highest quality available and while I do not have a receipt I am quite sure it is an Al Knoch interior kit . This is HIGHEST QUALITY Corvette materials you can buy.

The Interior was redone at the time of paint and body restoration back in 1994-1995 by Corvettes & Classics of San Marcos, CA. The dash top was repainted during the restoration. The convertible top was completely restored during the restoration and is in excellent condition and matches the overall quality of the build. I didn't take the time to put the top all the way up and fasten it down. The top rails were all disassembled and painted during the process. The pictures I took will give you a feel for how nice the material is and the wonderful condition.

The engine and transmission run beautifully. The car starts up instantly without hesitation. All brakes have been completely replaced, including wheel cylinders and brake lines. Everything on the car works including the signal seeking radio.

The engine and undercarriage are detailed to #2 condition and show to a very high show/driver level. The frame is very original and unmolested. There are zero signs of rust or rust repair ever to this frame. To find a Southern CA born car like this is showcased by the original unmolested nature of this frame that is 64 years old.

Driving this little gem is pure pleasure. The motor has been maintained and some aspects of the motor have been rebuilt as chronicled in the partial list of maintenance records below. The 2-Speed Powerglide Automatic Transmission is smooth as silk and adds to the fun factor of driving this wonderful 235 cu in Chevy Six. It tracks straight down the road and brakes with authority thanks to the completely rebuilt brakes.

The steering is precise and effortless and easy to maneuver in tight spaces. The car is equipped with a brand new set of American Classic Wide Whitewall Tires in the correct style from the factory.

The Black/Gold License Plates are not the plates that come with the car and are only for display. The correct 1954 plates in California would be the larger style Black/Gold plates. If you are a CA buyer you can find a set of those plates and apply them to the car under the YOM (Year of Make) program, during the registration process. There are personal plates on the car at the moment and they will be removed before shipping the car.

The car was judged at a VCCA Event (Vintage Chevrolet Club of America) back sometime between 1975 and 1993 when it was owned by Elmer and Ruby Ryan of Bellflower, CA. This was prior to the car being restored by the next owner between 1994-95. The judging sheets come with the car and show it won a Gold Certificate with 960 points. This should underscore just how nice and original this car was at that time, prior to restoration.

This is a very low mileage original car, that was a thing to be cherished from the original owner til today. It has always been in California and was never a daily driver to anyone that owned it. Since its restoration in 1995 it has been a garage queen. The restoration is as fresh as the day it came out of the shop.

This nearly flawless Polo White Beauty is rare and the perfect compliment to any high-dollar collection. This would be a wonderful car to show or drive virtually anywhere. If you are local to Southern California you should take the time to come take a look. This 1954 Corvette is simply as good as it gets.

The car is available for inspection and can be put up on my lift in San Clemente, CA for inspection purposes. You are welcome to bring your mechanic and study and drive the car upon request. Questions can be directed to Frank at 949-310-6262. The owner's number is available upon request. Serious buyers are encouraged to call us before the end of the auction. This is a NO RESERVE Auction format and may be ended at any time.
