1972 Chevrolet C10 Prostreet Pickup Truck 509 V8 3 Speed Automatic Classic Vinta
1972 Chevrolet C-10 Prostreet
You know we love these '60s Chevy pickups, but this 1972 Chevrolet C10 long bed has everyone's attention. With a pro-street vibe and cool two-tone colors, it's definitely got the look, and the potent 650 horsepower big block under the hood gives it enough grunt to make use of all that tire out back. While the look is definitely aggressive, it doesn't get in your face all at once. Instead, this handsome black and silver pickup kind...of sneaks up on you with the little stuff. The stance is probably what you notice first, but then you realize that the look is pretty danged good and the relatively subtle color combination is a great choice for a bruiser like this. Remarkably, it's a wrap, not paint, and it rivals many of the nicer paint jobs we've seen and should be even more durable in the future. The doors fit well, there's a cowl-induction hood, and the emblems and mirrors were shaved, but the rest is fairly stock so it has an instantly-identifiable look. Between the fat tires, tubbed wheel wells in the bed, and the rumbling exhaust note, you know this sucker was born to run. However, given the nice workmanship on the tubs and the beautiful black wood bed floor, this truck's days as a hauler are probably over. The black and white houndstooth bench seat interior successfully combines original functionality with a few additional pro-street touches. The upholstery is the OEM stuff and the color combination obviously works well with the black and silver on the body. Black carpets and door panels tie it together nicely with the silver door panels and dash. A few shiny chrome accents remind you this isn't your average pickup, and the tall B&M shifter and trick gauges in the original instrument panel show you that the builder was willing to go the extra mile. The upholstery doesn't show much wear, so the cloth is durable and well-installed, and there's a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo head unit just above the switches for the fuel pump, fan, and other pro-street hardware. It's a sure bet, you'll probably never get tired of cruising around in this industrial-strength pickup. The burly Rehr Morrison 509 cubic inch V8 under the hood is plenty potent enough to make the most of the wide contact patches out back. With an estimated 650 horsepower on tap, it features Brodix aluminum heads, a giant cam, a big Holley double-pumper, and an Edelbrock intake manifold to improve top-end breathing and the setup gives the truck a lopey V8 idle. A few aluminum dress-up pieces look great in the silver engine bay, while the block itself continues the theme with black engine enamel and bare silver aluminum bits. A giant aluminum radiator keeps it cool in conjunction with an electric water pump, and the inner fenders and firewall have obviously been smoothed to frame the engine like artwork. The new TH400 3-speed automatic is set up with a 3000 RPM stall and a manual valve body, so the shifting is up to you and it does make for an entertaining drive. It's connected to a custom narrowed Strange 9-inch rear end with an aluminum center section hanging on trailing arms and coil-over shocks. Shiny Centerline wheels a traditional drag race look and wear 28x7.50-15s in front and giant 31x16.5-15 Mickey Thompson ET Streets in back. At first glance, a nice-looking old pickup. Up close, a beautifully built truck with a lot of horsepower. Call today!
