1989 Chevrolet Suburban Scottsdale 1500

I bought this SOLID TEXAS, straight and clean 2 owner truck about 3 1/2 years ago with the intent of restoring it to like new appearance as it is mostly mechanically sound. I haven't done anything to it, other than keeping it insured, inspected and drivable since. My wife is suggesting that I let go of some of my lower priority future projects in the stable. I guess that includes this COOL CHEVY SUBURBAN
The Exterior is straight without signs of collision repair or rust, excepting the usual problem of paint adhering in these model years. It is so ugly that my wife won't let me park in the driveway! My plan was to repaint It completely. (There is some surface rust on the drivers door from where the paint has peeled) Left support strap on tailgate is broken, Rear bumper has surface rust and slightly dented.Windshield has a vertical crack top to bottom and rear side vent glass has hairline crack that has not been a problem with annual state inspections.
The Interior is mostly in good shape with NO tears, just slightly worn on the drivers seat that has been swapped to the passenger side. Rear seats very nice. Carpet is not worn (like at the accelerator pedal) or torn but is faded and soiled and my plan was to replace it or dye it a darker blue, Headliner DOES need replaced with new material (about $100) glued to good factory backing panels. Gear selector needs adjusted to properly show gear selected. Rear Cargo has factory mat in good shape and no tears or scrapes.
Mechanically it starts, runs and drives without issue. It has Factory wheels with trim rings, Good tires with a ton of life left. The air conditioner has not worked, but I was told by previous owner that it just needed to be charged with Freon. I suspect a few of the o-rings have hardened and would need replaced as well. It does have Rear A/C too. There is an exhaust leak at the header Y pipe union that you can hear until it warms up, There is a power steering fluid leak near the pump, Rear shocks are weak, sag with a load and it "bounces" a little when a bump is encountered. Maybe a tune up wouldn't hurt either?
This Truck could be used as a reliable work truck just as it is, but would really make a nice Tow Vehicle with its receiver hitch, Family / Cargo hauler (does NOT have a third row of seats) or just a cool ride with a little TLC. If your looking for a project to rebuild as a Resto-Rod or Classic this Suburban Wagon is a very solid start!NO RESERVE, BID to BUY; Your Bid is your commitment to PURCHASE, Ask questions or inspect prior to your BID PLEASE!
