1990 Chevrolet Caprice Super-Stepside

If you are the kind of person who likes to go your own way instead of following the crowd, then you might like this one of a kind, custom, sports-truck. It's got a radical look to it and this thing is fast! Check it out. Not sure where or how to start describing this vehicle. First impressions get people wondering. Second impressions keep them wondering. They might notice the aggressive stance to the chassis and wonder what lies beneath that custom body. Dressed in Black with a hood scoop outlined in silver with blue pinstripes, the look up front is super clean. There are no hood or fender lines breaking up the flow of the body. The spoiler reaches low to the ground with fog lights and ducts cut into it. An oval grill with horizontal bars allows air in for cooling and headlights blend smoothly into the fenders. The bed of this vehicle features road racing aero down low and custom cutouts on the leading and trailing edges of the wheel wells. A hard bed cover continues the silver with blue pinstripe treatment down the center. Lift it up and you will find a nice flat cargo area with extra stowage below a lift up panel. Open the door and you will find an interior from the Caprice wagon that the chassis is based on. The door panel has a black upper with a pull handle set in wood grain panel. The center section is gray with vertical stripes and is underlined by black which matches the carpeting in the car. The bucket seats echo the look with gray pleated seating surfaces edged by smooth black vinyl with SS embroidered into the headrests. There is a leather wrapped steering wheel mounted on a tilt column with cruise. A rectangular dash display has clearly visible gauges for the speedo and tach as well as fuel, oil, water and volt meters. Wood grain cuts across the center with controls mounted in it including those for the R134 A/C system and AM/FM radio. The black and gray center console has a nice armrest as well as the switches for the power windows and a shifter for the 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive that was sourced from a late model Camaro. Tilting the hood forward on this car is fun and dramatic. And, it exposes another nice piece of hardware borrowed from the Camaro. A 6.2-liter V8 that sits down in the engine bay rather nicely. There is a cold air intake, a black cover dressing out the intake manifold, and silver covers with Chevrolet in script dressing out the valve covers. Hooker headers flow back to a dual exhaust system with free flow mufflers. The substantial amount of power that engine makes is sent back through the 4-speed automatic that was sourced from the same car so everything works together nicely. A solid axle located by a trailing arm rear suspension with coil springs transfers all that power to the ground. Up front, a control arm suspension with coil springs and a stout sway bar keeps the car cornering flat and ventilated disc brakes haul it back down from speed when you decide to let the horses run. The rubber meets the road through 275/50R17s in the back and 225/50R17s up front mounted on American Racing wheels. You can go your own way with this custom sports truck. And you can do it quickly, because this thing is fast!! Come on down and check it out.
