1979 Chevrolet Corvette L-82

This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette is a factory black-on-black coupe that has been given al the right investments so that the paint has a terrific shine and you stay cool with an ice-cold A/C interior. Even with all this appeal, and features like the original L82 V8, this superior sports coupe is still surprisingly affordable. The first thing that strikes you about this coupe is the color. It's an original black car, but there has been a more recent investment in a professional respray to keep this Corvette looking its best. Of course, it takes exceptionally straight fiberglass panels to showcase this mirror black finish. Competing for shine are the few interesting pieces of brightwork in places like the rocker panels, around the rear window, and the optional aluminum wheels â€" an icon on these later C3s. The result is a sleek and complete machine that you can enjoy reflecting the noon sun or midnight neon. There have been some great investments in the interior, too. The full black package looks deep and dark thanks to newer door panels, arm rests, headliner, and seat covers on those flat-folding buckets. Plus, this darkness is broken up nicely by the wood-like panels on the center console and dash. Like any good Corvette of this era, this one comes loaded with power windows, tilt steering column wheel, electric rear defogger, and an upgraded AM/FM cassette stereo. For the driver, there's a comfortable three-spoke sports steering wheel. Beyond that is the large speedometer and tachometer in front, and a full gauge package prominently to the side. When you want to show the world that your interior is as fantastically black as the exterior, you can go cruising around with the T-tops off. And since the air conditioning has been converted to R134a, feel free to do this long into the summer season. The engine is the optional upgraded (and numbers-matching) L82 350 cubic-inch V8. This higher compression motor was a must-have for the performance fans in 1979 because it offered 15% more horsepower than the standard Corvette V8. Just like the rest of the car, there have been the right investments keeping it in peak condition. In the last six years there has been given the right attention, including new valve seals, timing chin, full gasket set, and full engine paint. It inhales deeply through a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority out of a newer dual exhaust. Plus, this is a classic that's great for the open road thanks to newer front bushings and a rebuilt Positraction rear. It also has a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, fully independent suspension, and updated four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with maintenance records, this quite correct and all-black coupe is the perfect way to get an affordable 'Vette with killer looks and the right investments.
