1955 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery
The sudden influx of panel deliveries to our showroom suggests that the market is waking up to these cool yet practical machines. Take this 1955 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery, which is Chevy-speak for panel delivery; it's a great-looking car with Nomad DNA running through its veins, a peppy inline-six powerplant, A/C, and an overdrive transmission that makes it eminently practical. Need a great promotional vehicle? Look no further! It doesn't take much to make these cars look sleek; the all-new design in 1955 dropped the two rear doors and transformed it completely. Wearing medium blue paint that was done in the early 2000's, it still looks quite good with only minor signs of use and a great period vibe that works extremely well. Surely the off-white top helps with the '50s image, and it's just begging for your company's logo on the rear panels, don't you think? These weren't terribly heavy on the chrome like their passenger car siblings, and as a result it has a sleek almost custom look that works well with the lowered ride height and flashy wheels. On the other hand, the distinctive '55 Chevy grille and shiny chrome bumpers make the panel delivery a more upscale choice than a basic pickup or van, and the massive tailgate opens vertically to make loading easy, even in tight quarters. The extremely well-dressed interior stays true to the panel delivery's basic design but the gorgeous earth tones make it seem upscale and far more expensive than it is. Correct-looking upholstery on the seats is durable as well as comfortable, and with matching door panels, it's hard to imagine actually getting dirty and doing work in a vehicle like this. The same twin-pod instrument panel used in all Chevy passenger cars that year is used here, finished in two-tone tan with a big steering wheel that makes the power steering effortless. To make it totally usable today, there's a very cleanly installed Vintage Air A/C system under the dash and the skinny shifter lever now controls a 2004R 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Original gauges look to be in excellent order and that's the original AM radio still in the center of the dash. IN back, the cargo bay is immense, with a beautiful headliner, painted side panels, and a correct wooden floor protected by a simply lay-in carpet. Someone had a very clear vision for this car and took the road less traveled with a smooth and torquey 235 cubic inch inline-six for motivation. Adding an Offenhauser dual carb intake, twin 2-barrel carbs, and a very trick air cleaner assembly makes for entertaining performance as well as an engine bay that makes everyone do a double-take. Corporate turquoise paint on the engine itself gives it an OEM look, and even the big Walker radiator up front retains a period-correct appearance. A dual reservoir master cylinder and power front disc brakes greatly improve stopping power, and the aforementioned power steering works in conjunction with tubular A-arms and dropped spindles for modern handling. You can see the quality of the restoration underneath, where body-colored floors work with a satin black chassis that also features a new exhaust system. Traditional Torque Thrust style wheels add the period-perfect look and carry 215/60/15 front and 225/70/15 rear tires that add just a bit of rake. This is a great-looking work vehicle that has a unique take on power delivery, and the quality of the work doesn't erase its ability to get the job done. Call today!Vehicle Details:
