Description:
1953 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 SEDAN
This auction is for a 1953 Chevrolet Belair 2dr sedan. It belongs to a good friend of ours who doesn't own a computer and asked if we would list it for them. This is a car that she has owned for the past 3 years. It came up from Texas back in 08. It is a good straight solid car with minor body issues. The undersideis rock solid with most of the factory undercoating still in tact. Light surface rust on the exposed areasbut very minor. The outside shell is super solid. It does have 1 rust hole below the left side tail light and some paint blistering along the stainless trim edges in various spots. Solid in those areasandcould be cleaned up and blended in. The outside chrome is quite weathered so there are all new parts to replace them included in the sale. The trunk is full. Not counting the 2 bumpers for the car that I have in boxes and will be included. New parts consist of taillight chrome bezels with new lenses, hood ornament, hood emblem bezel, new 3 piece grill and grill teeth, grill side flair pieces, grill guard, front and rear bumper guards 2 each, and trunk guard. The onlything we did not get was a new trunk emblem bezel. Have a new all weather car cover included which is in the back seat. Car has the original 235 6cyl thatruns great with 3spd manual shift on the column. A lot of mechanical work was done in the last 3 years. New king pins and steering box, new shocks all around, new brakes 4 new radial white wall tires, new muffler, radiator, rebuilt water pump, and wiper blades. The car was converted to 12 volt system which didn't needto be done but was advised by her mechanic to do so. We have all the 6 volt system parts and components along with a new 6 volt battery that will be included. The car was upgraded to electronic ignition includingnew battery cable, alt, starter, battery, new lights and signals. I drove the car here to my shop andit drives great but the electric fuel pump is quite noisy. I would rebuild the original one and discard the electric fuel pump. The interior is in fair shapenew seat covers front and rear, new carpets. Will need a new head liner and the original padded dash pad was removed but did not replace it.Has original door panels. All the glass in the car is that deep green tinted glass. The front windshield does have a couple of stars that aren't bothering now but eventually will need to be replaced. This is a car that you can get in turn the key drive and enjoy now and upgrade as you go along. As we all know it is hard to find these with a good body and solid under carriageWe have a current Maine registration that can be transferredto the new owner should you need a title in your state. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the end ofthe auction and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions end.
