1980 Chevrolet El Camino
For Sale. 1980 Chevy El Camino Project rolling chassis with some expensive aftermarket performance parts. Have clear CT Title in hand and car was registered in CT and road worthy 2 years ago. Engine and Transmission, slotted mag wheels & Tires in main picture not included, rear tailgate not included. This is a project car that was setup with a small block chevy engine and 700r4 transmission it has Moroso steel engine mounts. Also on all 4 wheels are Wildwood 4 piston manual disc brakes that will work with 15" or larger rims. The rear axel is a Strange Engineering aftermarket Ford 9" g-body axel housing with fill and drain plug, complete with 31 spline strange street axels 3" race wheel studs, 5 on 4-3/4 wheel bolt pattern and 4.10 gears with HD posi in a Strange HD nodular iron case with Daytona pinion support and 1350 u-joint yoke. Cost new with brakes was $2700, there is less than 1000 miles on it. Front suspension has QA1 g-body Coil over conversions adjustable shock/spring assembly and tubular upper control arms with revised suspension geometry for better handling. Rear suspension consists of HD coil springs, 3/4" diameter rear sway bar bolted to QA1 Tubular rear lower control arms and adjustable rear upper control arms, shocks are also QA1. Chassis/frame is solid and in good shape. The hood is a bolt on 4" cowl fiberglass one that has a hole to fit a 14" diameter air cleaner through (last engine had a 1x4 barrel tunnel ram). Shaved door handles with door poppers that need replacing. Front bumper has been narrowed and tucked closer to body. Rear window is custom lexan and was installed to facilitate rear down bars of a roll cage(not included). However, also included but not currently installed is a Custom 3" X pipe exhaust with heat wrapped Small BlockChevy 1-3/4" Shoenfeld headers and Hooker Aerochamber mufflers. The exhaust is setup to exit through two cutouts in the center of the fiberglass rearbumper which is also included (pictures show how it looked when installed). The Dash is an aftermarket race type setup forAuto-metergauges that removes for easyaccess with somedzusfasteners. Thewiring behind it is newer and was connected to a cluster ofAuto-meterSport Comp Guages (not included). The rear bed is cut and setup to hold a fuel cell and fuel filter (not included) and has large diameter 1/2 fuel line running to the front of the car. Front seats are some type of road race copy bucket seats in need of recover. Custom built center console is made to fit a Hurstquarter stick shifter(not included). Body does have bondo/plastic repair areas, not sure what lies beneath. Some body and chassis parts are from different years 1980 to 1983. Thiswould make a good project car or donor parts car for another g-body car. Most of the performance suspension and rear parts will interchange from year to year on all g-body cars.
