Description:

1977 Chevrolet Blazer Cheyenne

Up for auction and offered at no reserve is my low mileage, rust free, California fresh 1977 Chevy Cheyenne K-5 Blazer. The Blazer has spent its entire life in the high desert of Central California and is 100% rust free.I purchased the Blazer from the 2nd owner with 97,000 miles showing on the odometer.Today the Blazer has 98,040 miles.

Sporting the Cheyenne package, the Blazer is nicely appointed with the 400 V-8, automatic, air, cruise, tilt, bucket seats, carpet, rallye wheels and console.Aftermarket additions include a 3-4" suspension lift, AM/FM/CD, chrome valve covers, electric fans, and tow hitch.

In the late 90's while driving the Blazer the original owner was involved in an accident.A small compact car ran a red light striking the Blazer's left rear tire. The Blazer came away with a broken rear-end housing, broken axles, damaged spring hangers, ruined 3rd member and a bent wheel.Body damage was limited to the lower qrtr. panel (behind the rear wheel) being slightly bent.At that time the Blazer was just another older vehicle with a value based on NADA or KBB. Unfortunately the Blazer's book value was less than the estimated repair costs and the insurance company deemed it a total loss. With no structural damage identified and minimal body damage, the original owners elected to purchase the Blazer back from the insurance company, made the repairs and put it back on the road.

This Blazer has not been abused, wheeled or mudded. The previous two owners as well as myself limited its use to the streets and highways. If you are looking for a super nice daily cruiser, something to take to local shows, a Saturday coffee or a serious off-roader this Blazer is one to consider!

Over the last 25 years my hobby of collecting and restoring muscle cars has expanded to vintage 4x4s.It is getting increasingly difficult to find unmolested, original 4x4s that have not been abused. When I see something unique, well cared for and original I buy and enjoy it!That is exactly how this Blazer ended up in my collection.Unfortunately, from time to time I have to downsize the herd and that time is now. Some lucky EBAYER is going to end up with a really nice 1977 K-5 Blazer!

Exterior:The Blazer does not appear to have ever had a full repaint and still wears most of its factory red paint.I suspect a little paint work was done to the passenger's side rear qrtr. but see no other areas that jump out at me as having been repainted. When I purchased the Blazer the lower qtr. was still damaged (from the accident) and it was solid red.I added the white accent as well as repaired the qtr.The addition of the white accent made this Blazer come alive!

The paint is very nice and has a great shine but is not without minor imperfections. The crew at the local car shows and Saturday coffee might not find them but the Barret-Jackson crowd may. Rockers, floors, inner fenders and cowl are super dry and rust free.Body is straight with no ding, dents or imperfections. Glass is all in good condition and all panels doors and fenders fit nicely and close solid.Tires are like new General (red letter Grabbers).Doors and tailgate shut nice and solid.Aside from a little rattle from the tailgate the Blazer is a pretty quiet ride.

If you have been shopping for a blazer of any vintage you know finding one with only minimal rust is tough. This Blazer has ZERO RUST or RUST REPAIR!

Interior: Super clean and nice. The drivers seat had one minor wear spot so I had the entire seat recovered. The material match is close but not perfect (I have the information on the fabric I purchased if the new owner decides to redo the other two seats for a perfect match). The carpet is original and in good shape and headliner is clean. The door panels are in good shape but both armrests and door pouches are showing wear. With the exception of the cruise and A/C, everything works on the Blazer.I suspect a charge will cure the A/C issue but have not investigated the cruise.

Mechanical:The 400 runs great, the transfer case is smooth and the transmission shifts nicely.Hit the key and the 400 rumbles to life through fairly new, nice sounding dual exhaust. The Blazer does have two minor drips (one oil and one PS fluid) but nothing major.

The Blazer has a 3-4" lift and warn hubs.Other than that, the Blazer has remained pretty much unmolested for 41 years and 98,000 miles. The Blazer is a real joy to drive and tracks and stops straight.

Realizing the Blazer had been in an accident I wanted to confirm the frame was not damaged and repairs were done correctly. After purchasing the Blazer I took it to the local frame shop. The frame shop confirmed the frame was fine but did make a few minor corrections to the lift installation to get everything frame and suspension related perfect!

If you are in the market for a Blazer this is one to be considered. This is a super nice, solid honest rig! Take it to cruise night or Saturday morning coffee or tuck it away at that special mountain retreat. And when you decide to take the Blazer for a cruise be prepared for lots of thumbs up and gas pump conversation!Don't let this one slip away!

Feel free to call Dean at 661-703-8402 should you have any questions and happy bidding!

I reserve the right to end auction early as the Blazer is for sale locally.

A couple items I missed in my description, the dash does have several (5) clean cracks. Not horrible or obscene but they are there. They can be seen in the photos. Also, the back of the rear seat (in the cargo area) has three tears (up along the top of the seat). these can also be in the photos. Thanks!
