1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups Panel Truck 6.6L V8 PS PB A/C

This 1955 Chevy Duramax diesel panel truck is one of a kind. You will not find one like this anywhere. I built this truck for myself and had no intention on selling this. This has about 100 miles on it and has been sitting in an upholstery shop for over 4 years. I completely lost interest in this project and offering it for sale. After 4 years of the Upholstery shop screwing around not getting the interior finished i am over it. This is about 90% complete. still needs door panels, headliner and refinish the 2006 Silverado dash. I have much different ideas for a project car now. If anyone has a Tesla i will consider part trade. You can google this truck it was featured in Diesel power and is online at truck trend for more information and pictures. If you really want this truck, you need to talk to me before buying this. You need know exactly what you are looking at. This is NOT a finished truck but it does run and drive and is reliable.
The chassis
This truck drives like a new Diesel truck. very smooth and much more powerful. Extensive modifications were done to this to make it the ultimate classic truck. This is on a newer 2007 chevy express van chassis has Anti lock disc brakes and all suspension I removed the original wood floor from the 1955 and used all metal floor from the van.The front part of the floor and lower firewall was cut out of a 2006 silverado. This was done to clear the Allison transmission and allow the stock silverado dash to fit. This truck is much more solid than stock. Mounting points were welded into the 1955 body so all the 2007 body bushings and bracing was used. This body will unbolt from the chassis just like a new van. Wheelbase is exactly the same between the two trucks no modifications to the frame were needed.
BodyPainted in 1957 Chevy turquoise and metallic silver roof. The stock body has a lot of changes to it. Even though it looks stock. It was walnut blasted for a clean start. 5 gallons of spray in insulation and heat barrier was used inside the truck and under the hood. The rear wheelwells have been stretched and raised from stock so the complete tire shows and matches the front. The rear doors have hidden hinges so the ulgy stock hinges do not stick out of the body. The license place is recessed into the rear door so it does not hang off a bracket. 1960-1966 chevy truck LED tail lights are mounted flush into the body. Gaps were filled so they are even around the door opening. Side doors have the corners rounded instead of the sharp squared off ends. One piece door glass with power windows. cowl was modified to match the doors. gaps were carefully fitted to look good. cowl was smoothed off and pushed back to clear the duramax. Hood is insulated and bottom is smoothed and painted. Keeps the engine noise down just like a new truck. Diesel filler door and fill tube was grafted in so you get the new diesel nozzle to fit at the fuel station. Even the small details were planned out on this truck. Custom core support was built to hold the radiator and air condenser. Eddie Motorsports billet hood hinges. Has a vintage air kit installed but hoses are not hooked up.
Motor and transmission
This motor is not stock. Started out as a 2006 Silverado LBZ. I completely rebuilt this motor with all of the best parts. Block and brackets were smoothed off, painted in Chevy orange. all other brackets were smoothed and polished. ARP stainless bolts throughout. Custom billet valve covers. This motor has more detail on it than anything you will find out there. The picture of the orange motor is the exact one in this truck. I changed to the billet Wagler intake manifold after the picture. Custom Mattisons aluminum polished radiator and air condenser.
PPE 15:1 pistons, Carrillo rods, So Cal diesel camshaft, billet injector retainers, So cal balancer. Wagler performance heads and billet intake manifold. GT42 Garret Turbo, PPE turbo mount, risers PPE exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated so they will stay looking nice. The turbo housing and all tubing was polished. PPE dual fueler and air compressor and detailed to match. Has a water to air intercooler mounted under the fender. Allison 6 speed with Stage 6 PPE transmission and converter. PPE deep oil pan. Setrab transmission cooler. There is about 60,000 in drivetrain in this truck. No corner was cut here.
InteriorInterior works, but not finished. I had the floor, walls and step plates color matched and sprayed at Line X. The interior metal areas are very nice and finished. I welded in mounting boss in different areas so you can mount seats, racks, or anything else you want to mount in the back. The floor has the stock mounting points for the silverado seats. This has the stock console, power and heated leather silverado seats installed. This fits into the stock silverado dash. The gauges were modified with stainless faceplate and blue LED lights. all gauges work. Stock radio is installed but it includes the new Retrosound Long Beach radio and speakers that are not installed yet. You will need to finish the door panels and dash.
