Fully sorted and ready to roll, this super cool pickup recently received a roof-to-rocker makeover that's set off by a striking coat of blue and white 2-stage. Under that high quality pigment, an incredibly straight fuselage hangs solid panels that, with the exception of a thorough massage during their restoration, appear to have led a quiet, drama-free existence. Those massaged panels feature better-than-factory alignment and, when opened and closed, sound solid and function exceptionally well. And that functional body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggest many labor-intensive hours were spent exacting top-notch finish work.

While its basic shape is certainly appealing, first rate detailing is what makes this Chevy really pop. At the front of the truck, a familiar chrome grille rides between a fresh chrome bumper, clean halogen headlights and a shaved hood. Behind that hood, a 1-piece windshield leads a 5-window greenhouse that's framed in bright, stainless wipers and small, polished mirrors. Beneath those mirrors, painted running boards combine with stylized locks and traditional door handles to create a simple, attractive profile. At the center of that profile, a spectacular wood bed is detailed with polished rail plugs and stainless skid strips. And at the back of that bed, a smooth tailgate reflects fresh chains and a custom roll pan that's fitted with flush tail lamps.

    ENGINE

Take a look under the truck's clean hood and you'll find 5.7 liters of LS1 V8 that's good for 325 horsepower! Straight from the factory, this fully sorted mill combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, coil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor-sharp throttle response and a torque band that's as wide as Texas. At the front of the engine, a factory-spec serpentine system spins a polished alternator and modern AC compressor at the sides of a polished Street & Performance air cleaner. Once air enters that cleaner, it flows through a factory-spec throttle body to a composite intake, which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through fresh Packard plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of PaceSetter long-tube headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a beefy aluminum radiator that's fitted with a large electric puller fan. Aesthetically, both the cast aluminum mill and its assortment of bright accessories seem right at home inside their smooth, color-keyed frame. And details like stainless hardware, polished rail covers and polished block-off plates ensure this truck looks every bit as good as it runs.

    DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Judging by appearance, this classic spent most of its blue-collar life living clean and working hard. So, when the time came for rebirth, the truck was a prime candidate for thorough modernization. Nowhere is that theme more evident than under the skin. The dressed LS1 sends power to a 4L65E 4-speed automatic, which spins a Ford 9-inch axle that's fitted with moderate, 3.56 gears. That familiar drivetrain pushes a Fatman Fabrications frame on a custom 4-link suspension, which sports modern coil-over-shocks. Tracking is provided by an upgraded front clip, which is fitted with tubular control arms, power rack-and-pinion steering and two more coil-over-shocks. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to 4-wheel power disc brakes. At the center of the floor, true-dual exhaust breathes through throaty Magnaflow mufflers. And, at the corners of the chassis, polished Foose wheels twist 245/40ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 265/35ZR20 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.

    INTERIOR

When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a stylish and comfortable cockpit that's sprinkled with amenities. Top dead center, a custom, "Chevrolet" branded dash hangs a locking glovebox and stylish Classic Instruments gauges above controls for modern air conditioning. In front of that dash, modern leather seats, which feature power adjustment for the driver, frame a small, custom console. That LED-lit console positions a tall armrest and dual cupholders between a Kicker amp, a Kicker subwoofer and a remote-controlled Pioneer CD/DVD player. Under that console, clean carpet anchors color-keyed floor mats beneath billet foot pedals. At the sides of that carpet, pliable door panels frame polished handles and small power window switches. Above those panels, a custom headliner centers a small dome light behind a billet mirror. And in front of the driver, a tilting column spins a polished Grant steering wheel.
