SS 1984 El Camino SS Designer Series, Coo Choo Customs
1984 Chevrolet El Camino Designer Series
NO RESERVE - Here is a 1984 El Camino SS with a Choo Choo Customs package.
CAR OVERVIEW:
The car looks good at 5 to 10 feet. I bought it at an benefit auction where the car had been donated by an elderly man who took ownership in June of 2009. Last registered for the road in 2013. It has an Edelbrock Carb, new dual batteries, Edelbrock valve covers, a really nice sounding exhaust note - dual exhaust, upgraded hoses, FOOSE Rims, SS seat covers, Choo Choo Designer Series emblems, Pioneer system and speakers. Engine may be a 305 or 350 - hard to tell.
Engine runs smooth and can be viewed here on YouTube:https://youtu.be/hsy5jCva6MM
The paint looks good from 10 feet but it needs work - some of the clear coat is discoloring on the roof and hood and although there are no major dings or dents, the body will need attention to bring it back to show quality as it has rust which can be seen in the pictures. I don't know what the underside looks like - but it probably has rust as well. Transmission was replaced in 2006.
My recommendation is to have it transported to your location as it has been off the road for several years. Brakes, transmission, electricals all seem to work fine. Starts, runs, stops, shifts no oil leaks on the garage floor - sounds great. It will drive onto your vehicle transport with ease.
History of the SS Choo Choo Custom Designer Series can be found here:https://www.elcaminocentral.com/showthread.php?t=51192
Between 1983 and 1987 approximately 2,200 El Caminos were converted into the Designer Series SS by Choo Choo Customs.
OVERVIEW:
The car is sold AS-IS. I am not a mechanic nor a dealer, the pictures represent the condition of the car. I have not owned the car for a long time, nor have I driven it for extended distances. I have driven in and around my house and it runs nice and tight. Great sound and rumble from the exhaust. There are no returns or refunds. The average price on eBay for a 1984 El Camino is currently $ 15,000.00. I have started the bid at $4,000.00 due to the work I think is needed. This is easily a $20,000 or more vehicle for someone who likes to do cosmetic body work. Please bid accordingly, the car has rust - for some people that's not a problem, for others it is. The car is being sold AS-IS. Please come and inspect if possible prior to bidding, ZIP Code is 22182. The car looks good in real life but better in the pictures.
