Description:
1985 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 K10 4x4
1985 Chevy Short-Bed K-10 4x4 driver with a 6 inch lift.Owned by an older gentlemen that is a business owner and lawyer so now just sits in the garage most of the time but it's been great for cruising around town getting ice cream with the wife, going up in the mountains or fishing at Strawberry occasionally, or going to shows with all the attention it gets. If you are a fan of the ''box body'' generation of Chevy pickups, you should check out this outstanding example. It is just what a truck should be and has been kept in the garage most of it's life and stayed stock except for the lift and suspension, the upgraded motor and carburetor, high performance starter, alternator and new battery withsome serious tires and a nice lift. The steering column has been upgraded along with the ignition switch. It's had many thousands of dollars put into it over the last few years so it would always run like a champ regardless of the out of the way location. But be forewarned, that bed looks ready to haul some nice furniture with scratchesand scrapes, so you may suddenly find yourself a bit more popular amongst your friends. It's an easy fix with a spray in bed liner or another type. I just haven't got around to it.GM officially called this K-10 body design the ''rounded line'' design, but the truck magazines started calling it ''box body'' or ''square body'', probably because of the rectangular front end with the quad headlights, and the nickname stuck. GM used a wind tunnel to sculpt the body to improve aerodynamics and fuel economy. They laid the windshield back at a steeper angle and ''rounded'' the edges of the cab and fenders. Regardless of the method and intent, the result is what many consider the best-looking trucks ever made. This one was originally painted in the factory correct colors of white basecoat/clearcoat. Has Chrome bumpers and aluminum rims that need polishing but it's a nice solid truck that runs great. Has a new carb, steering column, windshield wiper motor, nice stereo, new 12 bolt posi differential, 373 rear end gears make it great for climbing in high or low and has no problem cruising at 80 MPH on the freeway to California or the high desert of your choice. The lift was a professional lift so it could still be very useful and steady at highway cruisingspeeds.Open the door and you will find a near stock interior with the comfort and convenience features that will make your time in the cab enjoyable. The door panel has an assist grip, which may come in handy as the truck sits up a bit on those big tires, and once you're in, there's a big old armrest to relax onto. The burgundy cloth interior is in great shape. The bench seat is super comfortable and provides lots of room for passengers. A stock Chevy steering wheel has tilt and cruise with a column shifter for the transmission. Behind it are all the gauges to help you keep track of basic engine functions as well as your speed. It has a souped up chevy 350 as well as power steering and locks. The dash is neat and clean with a nice dash mat.The drivetrain on this truck is tried and true Chevrolet. Pop the hood and you will find a clean engine compartment and almost everything has been replaced with new belts, battery, starter, alternator, ect.Carbureted 5.7L V8 provides plenty of power. All the belts and hoses have been replaced and there is a new fan shroud as well as the factory jacking equipment mounted to the inner fender well. Power flows back through a 4-speed automatic trans with overdrive to the 4WD transfer case that is manually operated. The hubs are also manually operated at the wheels, so there are no pesky switches or solenoids in this system to malfunction. Solid axles and leaf springs front and rear are also as tough and reliable as it gets. There are nice Rancho shocks damping them, as well as a Rancho steering damper to help out in the event those 35X12.50R15 All Terrain for rock climbing, (or a curb or garden feature as you back up to the door to load furniture).A great looking, great driving Chevy, a great daily driver, come take a look and/or have someone test drive and run by a mechanic before you pay, I'll give you the name of the dealer that does all the work for me. It doesn't get much better than this, a clean, straight, never wrecked lifted short bed. Its not a show truck and I'll have it detailed if you want it to shine for you but as it sits it's one of the nicest drivers of the 85 Chevy K-10 Short-bed4X4 model left out there. Come on over anytime and check it out before it's gone. The last one I had sold in 1 day and that was before these K-10 Short Beds became so popular in the last few years. Check out the prices on ebay lately to see how the prices of these have already begun to soar. I just registered it and it passes emissions and safety checks with flying colors every time. Text or call me with any questions or more pictures, I have quite a few I can send you. Call for an appointment to drive it any day but Sunday. Thanks for looking.
