When the second generation was introduced a new, more modern look came in 1967, along with a new nickname: "Action Lineâ€. It was with this revision of the C/K truck that General Motors began to add comfort and convenience items to a vehicle line that had previously been for work purposes alone. The majority of 10 series and some 20 series Chevrolet trucks from 1967 to 1972 were equipped with a coil spring trailing arm rear suspension, which greatly improved the ride over traditional leaf springs. However, the leaf spring rear suspension was still available on those trucks, and standard on 30 series trucks. All 2-wheel drive trucks came with independent front suspension.The most visible change in differentiating a 1968 from a 1967 was the addition of side-marker reflectors on all fenders. Also, the small rear window cab was no longer available Another addition was the Custom Comfort and Convenience interior package that fell between the Standard cab and CST cab options. In 1968, Chevrolet celebrated 50 years of manufacturing trucks, and to commemorate, they released a 50th Anniversary package, which featured an exclusive white-gold-white paint scheme. This particular example has just completed a comprehensive restoration, customization and rebuild. Completely refinished in hugger orange with custom matte pearl wrap accents. It features a highly detailed polished aluminum 350ci v8 with a nicely detailed engine compartment. A 4 speed 700R4 automatic transmission with a Corvette shift kit was installed for easy highway cruising and quick responsive shifting. The interior was completely removed and a brand new interior was installed including the beautiful wood steering wheel, Lokar pedals, ididit tilt steering column and everything else is new as well. The truck is very well equipped with power steering, ice cold air-conditioning, power 4 wheel disc brakes, and a very high-end custom audio system with professionally made custom kick panels. All aspects of the truck were addressed in the build including all brand new suspension and a new 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears, a brand new wood bed with finished oak slats and steel inserts, and with just 560 test miles on the odometer, this show stopping truck is ready for the road and the shows.
