Description:

1973 Chevrolet Corvette

Very nice project Corvette, 1973 Convertible. At this point in the build, you can easily make the front end a full chrome bumper Vette, ala 1968, 196, 1970, 1971, or 1972. (73's were unique; had a urethane bumper cover on front and chrome bumper in the rear). Or if you want to keep her a 73, I have the front-clip body panels, all new parts (some NOS including the hood-surround) for sale in another auction that will start in a few hours.
This is a four-speed car with no A/C, black standard interior and dark blue exterior, originally. (See photo of trim tag). The frame is straight, rust free, has been media blasted, then painted 'chassis black'.
The front suspension, steering & brakes: All new components, built with all top-of-the-line parts including new Raybestos rotors (on all four corners) and original calipers were rebuilt by VBP with stainless sleeves, for all four corners. New 'Hawk' ceramic brake pads on all four corners. New stainless brake lines. New Energy Suspension control-arm bushings, new Bilstein HD shocks (on all four corners), new coil springs from Eaton Spring (ordered with a big block in mind). Original power steering box was rebuilt by Lares. New rag-joint. New steering valve and RAM. Steering linkage components are new or rebuilt. New Moog ball joints. New wheel bearings and seals on all four corners. New performance VBP sway bars, front and rear.
The rear suspension & drive-train: Trailing arms were rebuilt by Austin Drive Train. New lightweight fiberglass rear spring (360 lbs rate) from VBP. Differential is equipped with new Eaton Posi and new Motive-Gear ring & pinion, 3.70 gear ratio, rebuilt by Austin Drive Train. 3" Half-shafts balanced by Austin Drive Train. New heavy-duty U-joints.
...in other words, the chassis is ready to go.
More: New fuel tank, new stainless fuel lines, door hinges rebuilt, door-locking mechanisms have been cleaned up and checked out, all new body bushings, and four nice GM Corvette rally wheels were tested for straightness (I had to purchase nine Corvette rally wheels before I found four that were straight). The original paint coatings have been removed from the body and she's down to the fiberglass which will save you hours of prep. Windshield is in great shape.
Also: I'm including the original bucket seats which have been reupholstered by Jim's Top Shop here in Austin (they're the best) over new seat buns. Original 'comfort-weave' upholstery was used. The seats look and feel great! Seat tracks have been rebuilt and they're ready to go. See photos of the seats. The original door panels are also included (they're in B or B- shape).
There's a bit of damage in both plenum areas (see photos). I have the parts (will be included) to repair those areas. It appears somebody did a hack-job when removing the front clip that was likely damaged.
I'd love to finish this project but I just don't have the time to take her to completion, hence the low starting point for this auction.
There are lot if directions you could take this project; the possibilities are endless. Convertibles are great. Vettes are cool. A convertible Corvette?,..it gets no better!
Let me know if you need photos of a particular area; happy to forward.
Good clean Texas title is in hand. Winner of this auction will forward $500 within three days of purchase. Buyer responsible for transport. Vehicle is located in Leander TX, very near Austin.
Please note my 100% eBay rating and,..
