1971 Chevrolet C-10
Selling my 1971 C-10. I just put my 68 LS3/442 into paint and you know what that cost. Plus there is only room in the garage for 1 hotrod. It was a bucket list truck for me, all the boxes were checked. Big block, tilt, tach, A/C and really wanted the bucket seat console set up. It is leaf springs in the rear, not coil springs, one of the pictures shows a 2.5" thick folder with all the documentation of the trucks restoration. The paint is really good, it is a 1 to 2 footer. When I got the truck the A/C was not finished and when I had it finished the mechanic did not do the best job of squaring the hood, seams are off. The A/C blows 25 to 27 deg's cooler than the outside temperature. I exercise the A/C (even if for a short time) every time I drive it regardless of temp. It does not "belt chirp" when you turn it on. All gauges work. Windows roll up and down well, vent windows are tight and seal well. Nothing is cut on this dash. the kick panel speakers are wedged in, I would not put a screw into that metal. The under seat speakers (pictured) along with kick panel speakers make for a great sound system for the truck. The truck is lowered with 4" de-arched leaf springs, springs and lower control arms in the front. I have all the original parts I have taken off the truck. The turbo 400 is built for 2000hp and shifts crisp. If I were to keep the truck, here's what I would do: I would replace/refinish the wood slats in the bed. I would swap the 13" steering wheel for a 15". I would put a retro-fit EFI of some type on it, and upgrade the trans to O/D. I would go with 1 aspect ratio lower profile tire in the front, and put the 2" drop springs in the front (which I have) instead of the 1" springs in there now. The big block is stout, but not a tire roaster, and it never runs hot...ever! Even in Az in traffic. A really good truck, that I've driven to Phoenix and back with no issues.Vehicle Details:
