The definition of a pro touring build is to take a classic beauty like this '69 Camaro andfill it with modern internals and a high horsepower engine. It's been done over and over to the point where it's really no big deal anymore. However, for those of you like me who prefer to keep a car mostly classic with added performance where it counts then this is car you're looking for. With a few modern updates, a classic houndstooth interior, and a big block engine, this rotisserie restored Camaro is the envy of any collector looking tocapture the heartbeat of America.
Body
ThisCamaro's bodywasrecently shotin a basecoat clearcoat Sherwin-Williams color of LeMans Blue metallic with a custom silver hockey stick painted down sides. At the front of the body a silver matched grill sits above the front chin spoiler andbody color matched bumper. The hood is a 2" cowl induction made of steel and features alow rise to direct fresh cool air into the engine bay. The tail pan to rear quarter panel seams were welded and filled in which adds to the clean smooth look. At the back of the body, a painted deck spoiler sits perfectly atop the trunk lid with the color matched rear bumper creating a look that is sure to garner plenty of attention. There are no nicks, dings or dents anywhere. As you can see from the pictures the body is lazer straight and the paint is smooth as glass.
Engine
This '69 Camaro features a rebuilt 454 cubic inch monster with a Demon 750 cfm double pumper carb and electric fuel pump for the ultimate blend of reliability and power.Speaking of power, this big block was mildly built resulting in a smooth idle and 425 reliable horsepower. The tricked out engine block was painted and looksamazing against the satin black firewall. Take a closer look on the right and you'll find a brake booster matched with power front disc brakes.A custom aluminum 4 row radiator and aluminum overflow tank with the help ofdual electric fans are responsible for cooling the 454. Spent gasses travel down shiny ceramic coated Hooker Super Comp Headers through a stainless dual exhaust system utilizing free flow race mufflers that exit out just behind the rear tires.
Suspension
Jack this Camaro up and you'llsee the clean smooth satin black painted undercarriage that shows just howdetailed this build really was.The coil spring suspension up front is strengthened by a pair of subframeconnectors to strengthen the chassis from unwanted twist. Performance tubular upper and lower control arms are connected to a power steering system turning 17x8" Rev Wheels shod with 245/40/17 Hankook ultra high performance tires.At the rear of the undercarriage you'll find a rear air suspensionkit with sport leaf springs and a light weight balanced aluminum driveshaft connected to a stout 10 bolt Posirear end with 3.73 gears spinning staggered and wider 18x9.5" Rev Wheels wearing275/35/18 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 sport tires.
Transmission
The mega torque created from the big block is sent through a smooth shifting Turbo 400 automatic transmissioncoupled with an Art Carr high performance torque converter. Selecting gears are easily done with the classic horseshoe shifter on the factory console housing the 4 vital gauges.
Interior
Open the driver's side door to reveal a classic deluxe interior with seats wrapped in soft houndstooth inserts.In the front of the driver is a rosewood steeringwheel connected to a factorydash panel housing Autometer Pro Comp Ultra-Lite gauges. Tunes are handled by a modern Custom Autosound Retro look digital tuner with USB connector blasting stereo sound to the rear 6x9 deck speakers. The interior is in mint condition and smells like a new car.
