1983 Chevrolet G20 Van

1983 chevrolet g20 "custom" van done by star van conversion company in anaheim calif in 1983. history of the van as it was explained to me:
original california van bought new 1983 and sold to neighbor in 1984, they have had it in their family ever since.always garage kept and impeccably maintained by the former owner and her husband. brought from calif to their home in lake havasu arizona where they used it sparingly and has been in the lake havasu homes garage since 2007 until i acquired the van after the husband passed recently,he loved this van and his wife was very torn about seeing it go.
power windows, power door locks&power brakes, tilt colunm,cruise control, a/c, also has aftermarket REAR a/c and both work as they should
6.2 liter diesel engine w banks turbo and115750 original miles
700 r4 trans that was pulled serviced and re sealed and warrantied
new belts and hoses
new front shocks, rears are older and could use a new set
all new fluids
2 new batteries
new starter solenoid
new tires w less that 250 miles on them(nubs are still on them)
ac serviced and charged
had all windows tinted
the van had SO many custom accessories from 1983 such as original keystone turbine wheels, programmable horn,equalizer,cb radio,kenwood cassette deck, alarm system that PAGED you if it was going off, power antenna etc,all the paperwork(see pics) is included.
i left all the original electronic features in the van but had the following done
equalizer did not power up so it is not connected,cb handle and plug and holder are there but not connected, stereo removed and had a new head unit installed w remote, usb port and bluetooth as well as new power antenna, all speakers removed and replaced, all trac lighting works as seen in pics,power locks and windows all work as they should as do all external lights, has two small drop down map lights above the custom tinted plexiglass sun visors that work also, so cool!
custom interior w 4 captains chairs that recline and swivel, rear couch that folds out into a bed,custom door panels and interior body panels that are amazing! headliner that is tight w no tears, the seats do have some small splits in material as seen in pics, but REALLY LOOK at the interior of this og van,especially the dash and dog house, it is in amazing condition, its 35 years old!!!all doors shut tight w no rattles! ALL the rubber seals on doors and rear pop out windows are soft and pliable w no issues, van rolls SOLID AND SMOOTH
NO RUST!!!paint is original (has a couple dings)and the graphics are some type of decal, not paint. paint is faded in spots and clear coat has some peeling issues(see pics) not major but some.nice thing is its original!! the wheel well flares have some scratches and chips(see pics) but still solid and tight, looks like they have had some small touch ups in the past.i would have it color sanded and re cleared and it would look good as new! sorry if pics have some glare, im not the best photographer :(
this is TRULY an amazing example of a custom van era survivor and words do NOT do it justice, it drives and rides so effortlessly, i drove it home from arizona at 75 mph to 85mph and was in disbelief how smooth and tight it is. i would strongly encourage any interested parties to come see and experience it for yourself...you will not be disappointed.
this van was babied all its life and it shows, i have seen some very nice ones from the gm factory but this one was done by STAR van co and what really sets it off is its a diesel and a great piece of custom van history!
