1988 Chevrolet Suburban SILVERADO 20

1988 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN, SILVERADO 20 3/4 Ton, 2WD with 454 ci Motor and Turbo 400 Transmission. Originally sold in Olympia WA, it has made it's way to Vancouver, BC. The odometer shows 29K Miles, but likely is 129K Miles. It is equipped with Power Windows, Power Locks, Cruise Control, AM/FM Cassette, Front Bench Seat. All power options work. There is a note in the handbook, that a larger fuel tank was installed. The tires are about 40-50%. The AC does not blow cold, there is no belt. I am sure it can be revived. The headliner is sagging and will need attention. Still in one piece. As pictured - there is some wear where the driver slides in, naturally, the rear seats are like new. A few very minor cracks on the dash. The carpets are very good.
This truck seems to have spent more time under the sun, than in the rain. Typical GMqualityof that era paint, had peeled off in some areas, mostly on the hood (please see pictures). On some places it is exposing the primer, but on a few, it is to the metal. There is surprisingly little rust, very minor. Here are the affected areas - The corner of the left rear door, not through. A few patches on the hood, some round the hinges of the tailgate.
If you have made it so far, we have saved the best for last. This is one tough machine. The 454 pulls strong and the 3 speed automatic shifts crisply. It brakes well, tracks straight. The trailer hitch is apparently rated at 2400lb TW. There is an electric trailer brake controller in the cabin.
Overall, this is a very nice truck. Not perfect cosmetically, but not embarrassingly ugly. The best part is the drive train. The ride is pretty...well, vintage. It's not a Lexus, but this thing was designed in the seventies. Good Luck!!
