1977 Chevrolet Silverado Stepside 4x4 Restored
1977 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500
Vehicle OverviewSome of the most desired trucks for enthusiasts and collectors are the American made models from the 1970s. This was when the Big Three automakers were leading the way in the U.S. for build quality.
Chevrolet and General Motors were at the cusp of greatest.
Up for sale is this 1977 Chevy Silverado Stepside with a GMC chassis and four-wheel drive. It was painstakingly engineered and includes a new Chevy 350 engine with less than 400 miles on it, and a brand new Chevy 350 turbo automatic transmission.
Under the hood the truck has new wiring and was recently detailed to show off the excellent condition of all hoses, battery and other components. Uncluttered Chevys don't last long and this is a great example of how to build a solid 4 X 4 truck with a tow package can look and drive.
New! New! New! Everything about this resto-mod was gone over with a fine-tooth comb, replaced, upgraded or restored. The new paint is an original Chevy color. It has a new oak and chrome bed that complements features like the clean new protected bed liner, the new 235/75/15-inch General Grabber tires and new high-end Ultra wheels.
Most of the rubber and glass is new too and so are the dual exhaust and headers. The front and rear bumpers are new as well as the mud flaps.
The GMC chassis was selected because of the dual-fuel tanks that are easily controlled with an interior switch. It also sports the tougher leaf-spring suspension, which makes towing pleasurable.
On the interior, it smells like new. The radio works and the shoulder harnesses are new. It is immaculate inside, features Vintage Air A/C. All of the vintage badges, door panels are factory correct.
Drivability is unbelievable thanks to the power steering, tilt wheel, power disc front brakes. Lots of power! Runs and drives like a new truck.
Nothing was left out. Has it all. No stone left unturned. I have owned and sold many classic trucks, every bit of the $25,000 that the previous owner paid for this restoration is visible throughout.
Paint and Exterior -
Newly sprayed and looks exceptional. Interested buyers can contact me and I will walk the vehicle and provide and inch by inch description. The body is completely straight and without any defect. As illustrated in the pictures, the sides read without wrinkle, bend or flaw. Doors, trunk and hood lines are laser straight and fit like a glove. The chrome is new and standing tall. The truck bed has new oak and chrome, with the sides of the bed lined and coated with a protector against scratches. Rear passenger side marker is cracked, (shown in pictures) a new one has been ordered.
Interior -
The interior boasts new door panels, headliners, dash pad, seat fabric, shoulder harnesses and carpet. Has the "new truck" smell. It offers the best of all worlds, the luster of new with the authenticity of original.
Engine compartment -
As can be seen in the pictures, the engine compartment is clean and uncluttered and looks like a vehicle with 400 miles should. Vintage air fits neatly in the compartment and is need of a charge. New wiring and hoses compliment the new, uncluttered look.
Undercarriage -
The undercarriage shows better than new. As the pictures display, no evidence that there was ever a hint of rust and as clean and dry and when restoration first completed. Hard to find a 4X4 that looks like this underneath. Clearly, one of the best attributes of this fine collectible is the impeccable care that was put into the undercarriage. You can tell a great deal about the quality of a restoration and the motivation of the restorer when you look at the places no one sees. This one is close to perfect!
Summary -
You will be hard pressed to find another truck from this era with as many features and as clean as this example. You can purchase this truck with total confidence. With the effort put into every detail of this restoration you can begin enjoying it immediately, without worry. All the work has been done for you. Whether you plan to drive it daily, test it off-road, pull your boat in tow or enter it in the next show, this Classic will fill the bill.
