MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Pro-Street Coupe.
Made in GM's Norwood, Ohio factory during the fourth week of May 1968, this model left the line painted Tripoli Turquoise (code KK) with a Parchment-colored interior (code 711). Since then, it has undergone a complete transformation.
Finished in a new gray metallic exterior with Pearl White racing stripes, the paint and trim are in excellent order. The car's windows are in very good condition; however, the rear quarter windows do not roll down, and the car's lights look great. This Camaro's bodywork is straight and solid, the car's new chrome bumpers and trim fit tightly to the body. Other custom parts include a four-link rear suspension, 18-coils, one-inch drop A-arms, Wilwood brakes and a custom, stainless steel 20-gallon fuel tank. Except for the roof and fiberglass cowl hood with four pins, the car has new sheetmetal. This F-body rolls on Mickey Thompson radials at all four corners - size 29X8.00R15 in front and 29×18.00R15 in back. The tires surround vented, chrome American Racing wheels. The wheels are in excellent order while the tires are in very good condition.
Forget about finding any 1960s-era carbureted V-8 engines once you and a buddy de-pin and lift away that fiberglass hood. Resting underneath is a 376 CID GM LSA supercharged, all-aluminum V-8. It features a Lingenfelter pulley and radiator, a K&N intake and a Performance Dyno tune. This motor churns out a stupendous 660 horsepower! Channeling that robust power to the rear wheels is a GM 6L90E six-speed automatic transmission with a narrowed 12-bolt rear end and 3.73 gearing. The only concession to convenience is the car's power brakes; there is no interior heater and the horn is inoperable.
Inside, there are black ProCar buckets up front as part of an all-new interior with custom upholstery. The front seats, matching carpet and headliner along with the three-spoke steering wheel, are all in excellent order. Since the interior rear has been tubbed, the rear demi-buckets are gone. The instrument panel, with its Dakota Digital gauges, is in excellent condition while the inner door panels are in very good order. The fuel gauge is currently inoperable. The center console looks good and the shift lever is in excellent order.
