1966 Chevrolet Corvette L79 Coupe

Everything works

Matching numbers L79 engine included. The story is that a previous owner pulled it to get rebuilt and the engine builder offered him a complete 350 for a song. So the L79 was set aside and the 350 was installed. I replaced the distributor, carb, and balancer, then added air conditioning and 100A alternator. It pulls strong at roughly 300hp with 260hp to the wheels.

Upgrades include:
- teak steering wheel- air conditioning
- new exhaust
- stainless brake lines
- dual circuit power brakes
- 4 piston calipers all the way around with square cut seals
- new suspension bushings
- new shocks
- new rear leaf spring
- aluminum radiator
- new dash pads
- new interior- new interior wiring harness- new restoration radio- 100 Amp alternator
- rebuilt posi differentialwith 3.55:1 gear ratio
- double nickel rechrome of original bumpers
Odometer did not work when I bought it. It was missing a tooth and would not turn. Scott's speedo shop rebuilt it for me and set it to zero. Today it is showing 8,550 miles but I do drive it on sunny days so it may go up.
This Corvette is a good to excellent driver. It is the Corvette for someone who wants to take it out, smoke the tires, and have fun without the worries that come with an NCRS, Bloomington Gold, investment grade, trailer queen. The paint is great but not the original Ermine white. If that's what you want, this is also not the price bracket for that. Instead, this is the car for someone who wants to get behind the wheel and have fun. Starts and runs with no worries.
Speaking of which, think about this for a minute.2018 Corvette Coupe will run about $65,000 according to Edmunds.comThis Corvette Coupe will come in somewhere below $60,000.
According to Edmunds true cost to own, after 3 years the new Corvette will be worth $43,000. (After 5 years it will be $35.6k) Insurance and plates will run somewhere around $1500 per year, so add another $4500 to the costs. This Corvette will cost around $400 per year with classic car insurance and after 3 years it will still be worth what you paid for it or more.
