Description:

1972 Chevrolet Corvette

Paint Code: 988, Steel Cities Gray
Interior Code: 407, Red Vinyl
Clean Title.Recently inspected and registered.Mechanically sound, car is in great overall condition and can be driven and enjoyed immediately... not some "project car".Same owner past 8 years.20,500 miles (not original) indicated on odometer. This car never fails to draw attention and the color combination shows very well & garners it's share of turned heads & compliments.I even had a gentleman track me down inside a restaurant recently, just to talk with me about the car.

A car needs to be driven periodically... but I just don't have many opportunities to drive this one anymore, so it needs to go to a new owner that can use and enjoy it.This particular car marks the last year of chrome bumpers front and rear and the removable rear window. It will get you into the hobby with a modest investment that won't break the bank and will give you a car that is fun to drive and a good platform to modify for better performance if you desire. With values trending upward... it's a good investment too.

The paint is very nice but not original, as the car appears to have been repainted at some point in time before I became the owner. The paint isn't perfect, there are small flaws when you look closely enough... but the car is no where near ready for a repaint either. The interior is red.Windows have been tinted with ceramic tint. The interior and carpet is very near perfect.

The car DOES NOT have many of the electronic gizmos that lead to maintenance issues down the road like cruise control, power locks or power windows. It DOES have power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. It's a very basic sports car that is easy to maintain as a result.

The interior display is completely illuminated w/o a single burned out bulb and includes an upgraded quartz clock. The AM/FM radio is made by Antique Automobile Radio and looks and operates very similar to the original radio and is also MP3 player compatible. The plug-in jack for the MP3 player is mounted in the ash tray and not visible unless needed. The original radio (non-working) is also included in the sale.
Steering has been converted from the original technology to a rack and pinion unit.As a result of the change, rather than the vague on-center feel these cars had even when new, you get very responsive steering similar to modern Corvettes. The original steering components are also included in the sale.

The radiator is a Dewitts Direct Fit high performance aluminum radiator and the car is currently fitted with a flex fan to aid in air flow at idle. This eliminates the possibility of overheating issues if stuck in traffic during the summer with the A/C running.Speaking of the A/C, it's been completely gone through and converted to use less expensive and readily available 134a and performs well. The original seven-blade fan and fan clutch are included in the sale.

The front control arms and ball joints and the rear trailing arms have been rebuilt and all shocks replaced too.Tires are very near brand new.

The current Rochester carburetor is from a 1972 Chevy pickup and performs well.However... I am also including a recently & professionally overhauled '72 Corvette numbers correct Rochester carburetor in the sale.

The headlight doors and wiper door operate very fast and flawlessly as a result of new vacuum lines, control valves and actuators. The vacuum system is remarkably tight.

Sale will also include various assorted parts and hardware... some used... some new, repair manual, factory assembly manual (digital), car cover, a very nice fender cover that covers the entire front end during servicing, a pretty big stack of receipts and a three-ring binder of information on the car.I haven't organized the receipts... just kept sticking them in the binder as I did the work.

What it could use:

The car leaks a little transmission fluid... haven't had a chance to address.

The drivers side seat has just had a seam on the bottom cushion begin to open up.

That's it!

Car is being sold "As is" without any expressed or implied warranties and buyer will be responsible for pick up and/or shipping. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will answer as truthfully and quickly as I can.If you wish to see the car in person, arrangements can be made.In fact... I encourage it.
I ask if you choose to use "Buy it Now" or want to make an offer, please have your funds in order prior to buying/offering.I will NOT give the car away and there aren't any external factors forcing me to sell quickly. It simply doesn't get driven enough... that's the ONLY reason for selling. The car is also for sale locally. Therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car should sell before the auction is scheduled to expire.

Please, no international bidders (continental 48 US States only), dreamers, tire-kickers, joy-riders, low-ball offers, trade offers or scammers. If you're an automobile broker... and wish to present your pitch to represent me and/or the car for sale... you also DO NOT need to contact me.

Acceptable payment methods are cash or cashier's check only.I will require a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction close, with the remaining balance due within 14 days.I think both timelines are VERY reasonable and accommodating when purchasing a used car.
