1952 Chevrolet 3600 Tanker Truck 347 Miles Forester Green Pickup Truck 216 I6 4
1952 Chevrolet Other Pickups Tanker Truck
Exceptionally well-restored and looking every bit as good as when it first rolled off of Chevy's Kansas City, Missouri assembly line, this 1952 Chevrolet 3600 Tanker Truck is overflowing with nostalgic curb appeal. It's a smile-inducing reminder of a simpler time - an era when this sturdy pickup went to work for the Sinclair Oil Company as its automotive brethren also set about dutifully servicing the post World War II Industrial boom then enjoyed around the country. A very exacting,... frame off restoration has left this pickup in truly impressive shape. Its body panels were media blasted down to bare metal and any areas that didn't pass muster were replaced . . . from scratch! You can plainly see the evidence of all that work, the body panels from front to back are exceptionally well aligned, giving the truck an aura of capability so vivid that you can easily picture it making the rounds on dirt roads to top off desolate service stations with much-needed gasoline. Its Forester Green shade is a perfect fit for this venerable workhorse and is also in fine form, producing a great shine from all angles. The Chevy trucks of this era have some of the greatest front grilles ever to adorn vintage trucks - veritable stylistic chrome-fests that would be right at home at a museum exhibit - and you can see that this grille, the exterior components from bumper to bumper, as well as all the glass, have been restored to absolute freshness. The interior has also been meticulously restored very much in the configuration of the original, but with more opulent brown leather adorning the bench seat. Some serious logistical work went into this project, as even the steering wheel features an obviously stock appearance but shows no signs of wear, The gauges are all new as well as the switches and sit perfectly within the clean expanse of steel of the dash area. Sitting front and center on that dash, a gold badge signifies that this Chevy was indeed an official work truck in the Sinclair Oil fleet. In back, the Sinclair storage tank bears an additional gold tag as testimony to its authenticity, and even the hand painted lettering on the 3 tank inlets (for regular and ethyl gasoline, as well as Opaline, Sinclair's own proprietary motor oil) stand out in stark relief from the Forester Green surrounding them. Just off their sides, a custom wooden shelf and service box are spotless with a glossy shine. The box contains a new filler nozzle and rubber hose that easily connects to the original brass valves at the rear of the tank. How cool is that?! Raise the beefy hood on this '52 and you'll see still more evidence of this stellar restoration - the original 216 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder this Chevy started out with still sits in the very clean engine bay and was completely rebuilt. No mere novelty, it fires right up and runs smoothly, too. In fact, by all measures this truck drives surprisingly well. Sporting a fresh suspension, with coilovers in the back, it has a comfortable ride and the Bendix style brakes with larger 3800 or 1 ton rear brakes brings it to a halt in appropriately short order when called on to do so. This exceptional vintage truck sits on a set of stock 16" steel rims, painted to match its exterior and wrapped in a set of Michelin black walls. With more work done than we have room to list here, if you are looking for a truly unique and impressive vintage vehicle that's been restored to an enviable condition and possesses a one of a kind nostalgic attraction, you have to check out this 1952 Chevrolet 3600 Tanker Truck.
