Description:

1964 Chevrolet Impala

This is a 1964 Chevrolet Impala two-door hardtop.Originally it had a 283, powerglide, and power-assist steering. The engine and transmission were swapped at some time in the past. When I purchased this, I was told that the engine is a crate 350.The transmission is a powerglide.

The car was in the process of being put together when I purchased it six years ago.The person putting the car together passed away about 14 years ago.The things that I have done to the car include:made the engine run, install new seals in the wheel cylinders, install new brake shoes, install new brake hoses, install a new master cylinder, install a new turn signal cam, installed an exhaust system, installed new front shocks, recovered the seats, patched holes in floor, patched holes in trunk, painted interior metal, painted trunk, bought new tires, installed matching lock cylinders, installed new carpet, sanded the top surfaces of the car, treated the top surfaces of the car with metal etcher, primed the top surfaces of the car, painted the top surfaces of the car, and installed a new radiator. There may be some other repairs that I have done as well, but these are the ones that come to mind.

When I bought the tires, the shop ticket stated that the car had 15,470 for mileage.I have driven the car for a little over 1000 miles since. It goes down the road like all the other 1964 Chevys that I have driven.

Please look over all the photos closely to determine the condition of the car.All of the painting that I have done on the car was using “shake cans”.I do not have a fancy set up for painting. All of the repairs that I have done on the car were to make it a usable vehicle. The in dash radio is not hooked up yet. There are speaker wires from the radio to the trunk. The original radiator is included. There are a couple of items that are not noticeable in the photos. The windshield does have some scratches on the drivers side. The car does leave small puddles when it is parked. Thank you for your interest.

I have several more pictures and a couple of videos of the car at this web address: www.mrtownsend.com/1964_Impala
