Description:

1972 Chevrolet C-10

This is a 1972 C10 that has a recently completed, 5 year frame-off restoration. I took my time restoring this truck as I intended to keep it, but times and interests change and now it is for sale. I have put over 1000 trouble free miles on it since finishing the restoration and have driven it to a few car shows where the truck received "Best Paint" and "Best of Show" awards. This truck gets a lot of attention at these events.

Exterior - The truck has new, show quality paint. 10 out of 10. It is flawless. The color is Silver Birch Metallic. Body has no issues at all. The cab had all rust repaired and it was done perfectly. New floor, cab corners and rockers. Looks very nice, body lines and gaps are all very good. New aftermarket doors shut perfectly. I also put a new bed on it. All sheet metal came from Southern Kentucky Classics...this is the best you can get for these trucks. It is 10 out of 10 on appearance.

Interior - Interior is Black/White hounds tooth bucket seats with console. Everything is new. New seat foams and upholstery, dash components, carpet. The instruments are Dakota Digital and they look and work great. New three point seat belts. The sound system is a new Pioneer head unit with Infinity speakers...sounds great and is upgradeable easily to a system with subwoofers and amplifier as I bought a head unit for a 5 channel amp. This truck has a Gen IV, Vintage Air conditioning that works well. Comes out at 43 degrees. These trucks are miserable without A/C. I also installed sound deadener under the carpet in order to aid in comfort. It also has power brakes, power steering, tilt wheel and cruise control. Interior is perfect, also a 10 out of 10.

Engine - Engine is an LS out of a 2002 Silverado. This was a low mile engine that did not need rebuilt, however I did put new plugs and plug wires on it. It is completely stock except for the exhaust, which is Magnaflow mufflers and 2010 Camaro SS manifolds. Sounds good and looks good.

Drivetrain - Transmission is the 4L60E that came with the engine out of the Silverado. I had it professionally rebuilt to have a more firm shift. It performs flawlessly. A one piece aluminum drive shaft connects to the stock 3.73 rear axle, which is the correct gearing for this package. It is comfortable to drive around town and gets 20 mpg on highway with the overdrive transmission.

The rest of the drive train and suspension has been rebuilt and all in perfect condition. It is an original short bed, 115" wheel base truck, not a cut down long bed. The VIN matches on the frame, title, door pillar, and glove box. The truck was lowered 4 inches in the front and 7 in the rear. It has a leaf spring rear end. Trucks that are lowered with a leaf spring rear end have a much more firm feel and don't bottom out on the suspension like coil spring trucks do. I also installed a sway bar to the front. Tires and wheels are chrome Ridler 645, 20" front and rear with Nitto tires. Truck handles great.

Misc - Everything has been rebuilt or new on this truck. New tires, exhaust, battery, windshield, sliding rear window, side windows with vent windows, gas tank (which was relocated to the rear), fuel lines, brakes, calipers, booster, master cylinder and new parking brake components, radiator, lights, wiring, mirrors, grill(with billet insert), emblems, all new synthetic fluids ...virtually everything.

All in all this is a very nice restored LS powered C10 with Vintage Air conditioning that is turn-key, ready to enjoy. It is a 46 year old truck that drives like a new Silverado...it is in near perfect condition.

If you would like to have someone to inspect the truck before bidding, there is a local club with many helpful members that know classic vehicles. You can find the club by searching for Show-me Corvettes on the web or Facebook.

If prepaid, I would gladly meet you at Lambert Airport in St Louis with the truck for you to drive home. I have done this for the buyers of my past restorations and every buyer has made it home trouble free. Additionally, I have the means to ship if needed. It will cost less than $1500 anywhere in the U.S..

I am available virtually anytime for viewing and have more pictures (both current and of the restoration) available to interested parties.
Clean, clear title in hand. Call or text 573-631-1941 if you have any questions. I love to talk old cars so don't hesitate to contact me. I also have an indoor car cover that goes with the truck.
