1964 Chevrolet Impala

This classic Chevrolet Impala Sport Sedan (4 door hard top, no post) is a mostly original, low mileage, North Carolina car. Originally sold in Denton, NC, we purchased it in Stokesdale, NC where it had been resting in a carport for 25 years. The car was so straight, complete and original that we decided to leave it just like it was, with the exception of a thorough cleaning. After months of working on this Impala, the end result is a car that looks old, but has been thoroughly serviced and has some practical upgrades that help it drive very well. This car came with a 327ci 250hp V8 that is now rebuilt and upgraded to 350hp. With the 2 speed Powerglide transmission, this Impala isn't terribly quick off the line but has plenty of power once it's going and is a great cruiser. With cruising in mind, an item we splurged on and spent considerable time & money on is modern climate control (heat and air conditioning) from Vintage Air. It looks right in the car, and works really well - the a/c is super cold! And with the upgrading the going, it made sense to upgrade the stopping. The brakes are all new with a power disc brake conversion for the front and new stock brakes for the rear. This Impala stops very well, especially for such a big and old vehicle. Nearly everything related to the engine is new. The transmission has been serviced. The battery, tires, fuel tank and countless smaller items are also new. While most folks would put this level of attention into a coupe or convertible, we liked the idea of doing something different, and this car was nice enough and right enough to be worth doing. Note that this Chevrolet is too old for a Carfax report and does not have to be inspected here in NC. Additional photos can be seen on our website.
