Description:
1970 Chevrolet C-10
Up for auction is a beautiful Chevy Short bed. Picked it up recently with the intent of making an old shop truck out of her but to be honest.... she is just too pretty for me to "ruin " by what I plan on doing so figure I would throw on here and see if there is any interest. Ole girl is a really nice truck. Older restoration. Previous owner said it was redone approx. 5-6 years ago and always been garage kept. I just installed wiper on her because previous owner had caps on shaft because he didn't drive in rain and said looked better for car shows without them. here is what I know. I try to give all honest info. and lots of pics. because I buy on here as well and know you can never have too much info. or pics.Drive train: Looks to be pretty much original with exception to Holley carburetor and headers. 350 engine and 350 trans. 373 gears I believe Guy estimated about 3000 miles on engine and new transmission. Still running old points dist. and original steel intake. Runs and drive good. Drove home approx 300 miles on interstate without any issues. Goes down rod real good and smooth. Speedometer is off 10mph or so fast and will more then likely need different speedo. gear in trans. probably being new trans it was not calibrated to tires and gears etc. easy fix.Just have to see how much off and go to a gear with more or less teeth to compensate. Also see some oil on intake around bolts. Probably didn't use thread sealant on bolts. I would swap it for an aluminum intake and HEI dist. anyway. Unsure if engine is original so included # on block if you want to check out. Still running Drum brakes on front which were just all replaced last week with new drums, shoes and hardware. Disc brake conversion in future would be good upgrade but she stops good. Does have Power Brakes and Power steering which is factory ( see options in pic from glove box) Also original Short bed. Also just installed new battery last week.Body: Truck is extremely solid for year.Frame is great Floors and supports all real good and undercoated. tried to take couple pics to show. Mounts look all new along with shocks and rear springs. Little high in the ass I think but I like them low.. Like I said this truck was redone a few years back and shows well. Paint still shines and looks to have been quality job when done. Bed in great shape other than some scratches on tailgate. Has plastic bedliner so unsure what it looks like underneath but floors are solid Also has a new trifold Tonneau cover as well. Looks like the glass and seals were probably all replaced then as well with no discoloring. Drip rails have been shaved, side marker lights removed, and antenna removed from cowl and frenched in behind passenger door and all trim and emblems removed Nice and tastefully done custom treatments. Truck was completely disassembled with a frame off restoration when painted so done right. Truck is overall really solid and tight. There is a couple spots starting to bubble under paint on front fender and drivers door I have took pics. of as well. also couple real small ones above door... Just trying to be honest so there are no surprises. Bought quite a few on here and hate long distance surprises... Truck is not perfect and will need some attention in future but look at her She is pretty and priced cheap and accordingly I feel for condition. See them bring much more on here and not near as nice of original short beds. Running some old school Spoked 15" wheels and tires are near new.Interior: Inside truck is beautiful. Seats look to be out of newer Silverado and are in really great shape and quite Comfortable with built in seat belts. Sit little high for my taste pushing me close to roof but I am 6'3" and don't fit in many of these old trucks very well without a tilt and seat mods. has a center jump seat which is a little off in color. Also has removable console, armrest.Gas tank is still behind seat and gauge works.Carpe, door panels, dash all look new. Everything seems to work as it should except inside turn signal lights are not lighting up in dash. Work outside. Also horn not working. Tach on column is also removed after I took pics. because it wasn't hooked up right but will include if you want it. Someone put a really nice aftermarket wheel on it and probably didn't hook up. gauges, heater, wipers etc all work along with lighter and dome light. Just installed a nice Pioneer stereo today and speakers along with a couple extra outlets for chargers etc. But Wait there is more.... I am also going to include a New stainless Tilt Column and new Kick panels with speakers in deal as well not yet installed ( still in mail being shipped) and a few extra items I have been buying for her to pretty up. I like fixing them up and improving upon them. Still room for next guy or gal to make it their own
Well if you are still reading this than you must be interested. Overall she is a really nice truck. Not pressed to sell. Still tinker with her when I got time but like i said, I bought online and in person was much nicer than I thought. Like them a little more ratty with more go than show. Wife is telling me to keep because it is that nice and am reluctant to sell. Starting price is what I got into her. Not looking to make a fortune off of deal... No Reserve. First bid will take her. High bid is gonna own her. I will only list once and I do not have for sale local. Only on here so if you want a really nice example of a sweet ass C-10 short bed that is not way overpriced then here you are... If she finds a good home then I will just find something else a little uglier that I can leave out off garage... If not then I am going to just enjoy and probably bag her... I know you purists are shaking your head but I like them more beat up and down on the ground but not gonna lie.. this ole girl is pretty bitchin and growing on me. Now for the legal...
$500 dollar deposit is due within 24 hours and rest is due in 7 days. I like PayPal deposits and rest in bank transfers or CASH is always King in person. May do certified check but truck will NOT leave until any check has clear and I have cash in my hand.... If you can not do this then please don't bid. Truck is more than welcome to stay in garage within reason till you can pick up or have shipper come get. Also happy to work with your shipper to be available and make deal go smooth on my end. I have done this quite a bit on here and know most ins and outs. Shipping is always a good option and pretty reasonable so worth considering if you are a ways away. I drove home 300 miles and truck did real good. Now can you driver her home to next state or cross country??? Who knows.. Truck is 48 years old and wouldn't be legal or insured... Up to you but can't guarantee anything. You buy AS /IS same as I did. I buy on here and sell and have been honest with all I know. read all the info. and look at pics. I put up plenty for you to enlarge. Feel free to ask questions and welcome to come see before auctions end. I am a straight up guy and happy to help anyway I can. Only bid if serious Please. This costs money to list and only going to do it once.
Well I think that is everything. Took me an hour to type this. Appreciate you taking the time to check the old girl out. Have a great day!!
