1937 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pickup Hot Rod - FORMER RUNNER - NOW A PROJECT AT 80%
This truck was a runner about 2 years ago. It was taken off the road when I found a partially cut rocker stud while doing some routine maintenance. At that time the heads were pulled and the press fit studs were removed. The plan was to take the heads to the machine shop and have screw-in studs installed. The studs were bought (and are included here), but never installed. A second set of 3890462 camel hump heads are included.
I WANT TO BE CLEAR HERE: THE ENGINE IS NOT CURRENTLY A RUNNER AND NEEDS ROCKER STUDS INSTALLED AND RE-ASSEMBLY. PLEASE SEE THE SHOTS WITH THE HEADS REMOVED. COMPONENTS WERE RE-INSTALLED FOR A REAL-WORLD MOCKUP OF WHAT THIS THING WILL LOOK LIKE.
While the engine was down I decided to change the swing-style brake and clutch pedals to under-floor mounted pedals and swap the Ididit steering column for a vintage GM column and turn signal switch. Neither of those projects were finished either. New Wilwood clutch master cylinder and dual-reservoir front brake master cylinder are included. So is the proportioning valve that was previously on the truck.
A good many parts are included, including a good bit of original '36-37 steel parts (steering column, inner door panels, hood sides, inner rear cab window panel, headliner bow, etc.), a set of rocker panels, and a set of lower door skin repair panels.
Truck:
  • 1937 Chevy frame and all-steel cab (Cab was clear-coated after I got it to preserve the original patina.)
  • 1936 Chevy truck grill shell
  • 1937 Chevy truck hood - trimmed to fit with the '36 shell

Engine:
  • 1965 327 from Chevy Impala (3782870) (2 bolt main)

  • Hurst shifter
  • 11" clutch

Rear-end:
  • Non-posi from a 1964 Impala(3.55 gear ratio?)
  • 4.11 center is included and ready to drop in
  • 11" brakes with all new parts, including lines, hoses hardware kit, wheel cylinders, etc. about 3-4 years ago

Front end:
  • 10" GM disc brakes
  • Vintage Wilwood calipers
  • Flaming River Vega-style steering box
I got this truck with power steering and a traditional-style steering set up installed. I removed all of that and replaced it with the Vega box and a much better cross-steering set up.
This listing will also include, if interested, several other parts including steering columns, bumper, etc.
