1972 Chevrolet Blazer Blazer
For go-anywhere utility and rugged good looks, it's hard to beat the Chevy Blazer. This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer has been extensively refinished, including sizzling orange paint, a new interior, and oversized rolling stock that gives it capabilities to match its appearance. And yes, the hard top is removable, making this one of the best ways to have fun off the pavement.
The K5's proportions are almost perfect: compact enough to go almost anywhere, but with a square-jawed functionality that makes it a popular off-roading choice today. The bright Hugger Orange paint job on this one was done quite recently, and the foundation underneath was a very clean, original truck. As with any vehicle of this vintage, there were a few bumps and bruises here and there, but you'll be hard pressed to find any evidence of age on it today. The paint job was thorough, too, covering the door jambs, inside the doors, the tailgate, and anywhere else signs of a repaint might hide. Heck they even painted the dash to match, and that means the truck was totally disassembled for paint, which is certainly not cheap! Other noteworthy details include the bright trim, which is either excellent original or exact reproduction, and the beautifully refinished hardtop.
The black and white houndstooth cloth bucket seat interior is all new and the craftsmanship is excellent. The original buckets wear fresh covers that resemble and early Camaro and the rear bench has been upholstered to match. New black carpets tie it all together nicely, including in the cargo area, which also helps control noise and temperatures inside the truck (when the hardtop is on, of course). Completely free of UV damage or cracks, I have to believe the dash pad is new, or else it's a testament to how beautifully preserved this truck really is. A Grant GT steering wheel modernizes the feel from the driver's seat and a set of auxiliary gauges under the dash monitor the engine's vitals a bit more closely than the factory dials. A RetroSound AM/FM radio fits perfectly in the original radio's slot, powering a variety of speakers stashed throughout the interior. There's also cool LED lighting under the dash for a bit of a modern feel.
Mechanically, the truck is ready to hit the trails thanks to a powerful 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood and a heavy-duty suspension. The engine bay itself is clean and serviceable, designed to be easy to maintain, although someone has recently added a set of chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner. There's an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor up top, plus a matching aluminum intake manifold, but it exhales through factory cast iron manifolds for durability. A dual exhaust system definitely adds some attitude, and the heavy-duty suspension features a bit of a lift, but nothing so extreme that you won't be comfortable driving it on the road. The frame is straight and clean, and doesn't show evidence of heavy off-road use, suggesting that this truck has, indeed, lived a very easy life. That GM axles at each end are virtually indestructible, and it rolls on a set of blacked-out Mayhem Metal wheels with giant 285/55/20 AMP mud terrain tires.
These trucks will never go out of style, and this one retains all the practicality of a stocker while delivering a bit of an attitude for today's world. Take advantage of this opportunity, because you just couldn't duplicate this truck for the price. Call today!
