[isdntekvideo]Here is an opportunity for you to own a true classic of the early 1960's.This beautiful 1961 Impala hardtop (AKA Bubble Top) comes with the factory A/C, power steering, and power brakes.The car originated in Texas where it apparently had a frame-off restoration performed in the mid 1990's.Current owner purchased the car in 1998 and has only logged 5000 miles on the odometer by attending local car shows and cruise nights.Never driven in rain and always garage kept.
The Impala was repainted in the original Twilight Turquoise metallic using a 2-stage urethane. You can see by the photos the restoration included painting the floor pans and gas tank in the original 'red oxide' color while retaining a gloss black finish on the frame and suspension pieces.All body panels appear to be original with little to no bodywork.
The power comes from the original 283 c.i, 230 h.p.motor (rebuilt) with the original Rochester 4-barrel carb, and dual exhaust.The original 2 speed Power glide was replaced with a 1960's vintage Turbo 350 automatic.Rear differential gearing is the original open 3.08:1.All of the suspension parts were replaced, new brakes and hardware, and new exhaust.
The interior seats were re-upholstered in the original pattern and color as well as the carpeting was replaced.The dash pad and door panels are original items.All the gauges function normally and even the AM radio works.Prior owner added an oil pressure gauge which is in the glove box.All the interior chrome is in excellent condition.
All new rubber molding throughout the car, the glass is original and in excellent condition., Exterior chrome was either re-plated or replaced.Mileage on the car is believed to be an original 65000.
