CHEVROLET 1963 IMPALA 409 ENGINE Let me say up front I know nothing about 409 engines so i will try to describe this engine the best I can. First of all look closely at the old repair on the side of the block just below the deck surface. This motor has been rebuilt by Jim Croce, I was told. The # on the block is 3844422 and T-0423QC is another # beside of piston # 2. One head has a #B762 and 3814690, the other head has a # A2562 and 3814690. For shipping quotes the heads will be in 2 boxes 88 pounds each that measure 30 x 15 x 9. The motor block weighs approximately 460 pounds and measures 31 x 29 x 17.
