FIRST of ALL, YES, THE MILEAGE IS ACTUAL AND FACTUAL. My father bought this beauty brand new in 1966. He always wanted to own his own tow truck so as not to have to rely on others, back in the day. It was never intended to be a commercially used truck, though, in its day, it was outfitted as one. I would like to see this truck is the hands of someone who would appreciate it and care for it as it should be taken care of. I DO NOT MIND if the buyer wants to keep the patina, paint and lettering as it is. I think it would be great. Yes, I know it needs work to be restored but could be driven daily with only a little work. That said.....the details
Auction is for one 1966 Chevrolet K20 Pickup truck including functioning Meyers plow ensemble and original-installed WRECKERS by WELD BUILT BODY wrecker towing set up as shown. Towing set up is powered by pto off transfer case. It works but has not been used in several years. Tires have less than 1,000 miles on them
Truck is 95% original. Modifications are shown in pictures. Shocks, suspension and steering are original and in good operating condition. Brakes are in good condition and lines have been replaced due to sitting. Vehicle has been modified to HEI ignition.
Attributes:Manual steering and manual drum brakesRadio and CB radioSix cylinder 292 CID Hi-Torque engine; Note Engine block was replaced due to a block crack from freezing temperature. Replacement engine was a Napa rebuilt short block, professionally installed. Engine block is remanufactured and has Less than 1,000 miles on it. High energy ignition upgrade.Clutch is original; smooth, quiet and strong.Four wheel drive function works, though it may have an issue with the right front universal joint.Towing setup is INCLUDED and functional; can be left in and used or removed.Plow setup is INCLUDED and functional; can be used as is or removed.Interior is excellent for age. Had vinyl seat cover installed the day it was purchased, though is is now worn and cracked, seat is still in very good condition. dash has had radio installed and several holes drilled for toggle switches. Truck has always been owner-driven; never smoked it. The shocks are original, not leaking and are the spiral type. Windows operate smoothly and door handles and latches are still crisp.
Known Faults:Intake manifold has small crack, causes vacuum leak. Sealant applied, but should be professionally welded, sealed or replaced.Small exhaust manifold leak, notable at idle.
Right front universal joint may be broken. otherwise 4WD would work. Selector lever free and functional.Body mounts are getting rusty. Frame may have small bend as shown in pictures, but is solid enough to have straightened or body/bed shimmed. Spare tire is NOT INCLUDED.
