1968 Chevrolet Belair Sedan
1968 Chevrolet Belair
The 1968 Chevrolet Bel Air received some styling changes but were quite similar to the 1967 models, although they grew one inch to 214.7 inches. The full sized Chevrolet's new grille design had a strong resemblance to Cadillac's however the Bel Air's dual round taillight design was strictly Bel Air/Biscayne.
For the first time Chevrolet mounted the taillights in the rear bumper, a design feature that would remain consistent on and off for the next few years. 1968 regulations required seat belts in all motor vehicles.
This car is powered by the new for 68 307 V8, advertised with a top speed of 105 mph and 17.1 mpg. coupled to an automatic transmission. The Bel Air has an older repaint and appears to be the original blue color but is faded a little from the Arizona sun where it resided for most of its years. There is also a patch visible in the trunk that is visible when the car was repainted in the past. It has a matching cloth and vinyl seat and blue loop pile carpeting. The interior is in very nice original condition and aside from the dash pad and the rear deck, has no rips or tears. The original chrome and trim is presentable and holds a nice shine. The car was driven around the property here and ran and shifted as it should. It was part of a static collection and should be gone over prior to putting it into service.
We encourage bidders to come see the car at the AACA Museum 161 Museum Drive, Hershey PA. BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are open seven days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM
