Description:

1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

1967 Corvette convertible. Older frame off professional restoration that now has less than 500 miles since it was completed. This is NOT a matching numbers car. It has a 3904351 427 block( 1967) rebuilt internally to 435 hp specifications, except it does not have tripower on it currently. Originally Marina blue/black, it now has a blue leather interior although i have most of the original interior. Side Pipes, 411 rear and a magnificent Tremec 5sp and centerforce clutch. It has the original 435 tach, and a partial tank sticker but i do not have other other documentation, do not have the original block or trans.

The tank sticker indicates it was born with 427, factory side exhaust, soldoriginally with hardtop only, cl ratio 4sp, 355 rear, am/fm, transistorized ignition eq. No power steering, no power brakes, no a/c. I have factory hardtop, soft top frame and both hardtop and softop deck panels.

This is a professional beautiful nut and bolt frame off with pictures of the work, except the dash was never dissassembled or replaced. It is a fantastic driver, no rattles, handles and shifts beautifully, i think better than they did new. And the overdrive gear makes it a dream on the highway. Removable i pod stereo and a few extra parts. The body and paint are very very nice, the fact that the paint is not brand new yet shows no significant defects reflects the quality of the body and paint. Its not some painted up horror show.

This car has a clear Pennsylvania title, it is not a salvage or reconstructed vehicle however it was stolen for a brief period of time in the 80s and the owner was required by the State of Maine where it was titled to get a reissued VIN. I have discussed this with Corvette experts and most agree if a car does not have the exact original drivetrain then a reissuedVINshould not dramatically affect value. When i titled the car in Pennsylvania it passed their rigorous title history check. It can be registered in any state . I have done a lot of research and have leads on the original owner and paperwork, but havent found the pot of document gold yet.

Most agree that this car would be over $100k if it was matching original in this condition. I have had local Corvette experts recently look and give it a thumbs up on condition andtheir belief it is a real big block car. So if you are tired of looking at original cars that need a lot of work, or cobbled together cars, or overpriced small blocks, give this car serious consideration. I have cherished it for over ten years but just dont get to drive it and i am hoping to find a buyer who will appreciate it for what it is, a great car to drive and show off with tons of money invested in the mechanicals and body and paint. I just bought a lingenfelter c-7 with 650hp and 1000 miles so i am ready to sell my baby.
