Price: - Item location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
Description:

1960 Chevrolet C-10

Here is a rare opportunity to own one of the hardest early C10 trucks to find. This 1960 Chevy Apache 10 Custom Cab factory shortbed Big big back window truck is one of the rarest and most desirable trucks going. The bubble style hood and curved side trim was only available in two years 1960 & 1961. The 1960 models had the rear trim under the back window that connects to both Custom rear Sail panel covers. You may never find or see another in your lifetime. The truck is also 1960 only Tartan Turquoise & White two tone which is a hard to find color and very desirable. This being said don't let a few extra thousand stop you from owning a one of a kind truck! Why buy a 64-66 small window truck, when you can own the king daddy of C10 style truck. Cruise as is or turn it into a killer truck.
This truck was bought new in California and was a 2 owner truck until I bought it and shipped it to Pennsylvania. Same owner since 1966, and still has the California black Plates and frames from the dealership. The California patina on this truck is perfect and second to none. The only rust is in the lower right front fender. The underneath is rock solid and has all original sheet metal with NO patches. Floors, body braces, cab corners, inner and outer rockers are perfect.
This truck runs down the road very nice. Tight, quiet truck not a bucket of bolts. The reserve price is very reasonably set for this vehicle. Could not be professional built for my reserve price. Please call me at 412-969-3591 and I will be happy to answer your questions and give you an honest description of the truck. Please bid with confidence! I do have many more pictures of the truck at the end of this description so please give them time to load.
Here is a little breakdown on the truck. ï‚·
  • These trucks were torsion bar front suspension from 1960 to 1962. The torsion bars and front crossmember were removed for the more desirable coil spring suspension. Front crossmember was donated from a 1970 C10 and was static lowered with drop springs. Front end is tight. Could be bagged easy with this set up. ï‚·
  • Has new rear drop springs, 4 new shocks, front shocks were relocated to correct shock travel. 2in rear drop blocks, correct rear adjustable panhard bar and professional installed C notch. ï‚·
  • All new frt, rear brakes, wheel cyls, master cyl, spring kit, and soft lines installed. ï‚·
  • New tires, wheels were blasted and painted and patina was added to match the truck. Has the correct 1960 center caps ï‚·
  • New windshield, rear window, and new glass & door weather-stripping. ï‚·
  • New rubber floor mat, and the seat was rebuilt and done with the factory SMS materials to duplicate the original seat. The seat and new sunvisors are covered in vintage plastic to protect and give it that fresh 1960 look. The seat alone was $1500 to do. ï‚·
  • Under the hood the truck still has its original 235 6Cyl engine. Recent tune up, carb was rebuilt and new filters. New water pump, thermostat, hoses, belt, etc. I just installed a New Alum 3 core radiator with trans cooler if new owner decides to do a V8, auto/LS1 swap. 4spd trans and Clutch work as they should ï‚·
  • The lights, turn signals, brake lights, dash, dome light, wipers, E brake all work as they should. This is a good running driving truck that is ready to enjoy. ï‚·
  • The 10 bolt Eaton rear was just rebuilt also.
